lol I just watched the Nintendo confrence from E3 and the reggie guy or whatever says something like
"We will promise the new zelda on Nintendo Wii release date"
And I was thinking...well its took you friggin long enough to make the game so I think you owe it to people for christ sake.
What happened to it comming out on GC?

The GC version is coming out the day the Wii is released as well as the Wii version of the game. Even though the GC version has proably been done for a while it's just a cheap tactic to get people who where waiting or going to buy a GC just for the new Zelda game to go "Oh, what the hell, i might as well just get the game with the new Nintendo system"

...with the GC almost dead is that really a wise idea? Not many people own a GC because no decent new games (and hardly any new games) are being released and they still want an outstanding price for them. More than most xbox and PS2 games!
No ones gonna buy the GC version if they release it the same day as the Wee version.

No ones gonna buy the GC version if they release it the same day as the Wee version. I don't think the bastards even care, they're just trying to push their new system. If the Wii really is backwards compatible though, i'm wondering what the controls would be like for somebody playing the GC version on Wii. Also with games that use the bongo's will need a GC type plugin for them. They'll probably just release the same peripherils with a Wii plugin to milk people some more.

More stuff on the Wii wiinintendo.net/?p=93$250 at the most works for me. Hell this is the only next gen console I want right now and it should be worth only that much. The prices for downloadables seem stupid to me though. Although just the thought of having the Turbo Grafix 16 Castlevania on Wii is mighty nice

I'm putting £20 down on the little bugger and paying £180 when it comes out, (go to Gamestation or Game). The Wii looks pretty cool and with the PS3 getting held back again it'll do till then.
for a new console it's looking very cheap
and I must just say BUGGER THE X-BOX 360

although its early days, the ps3 and xbox 360 both look like overpriced plies of wank: just the same old games but in hi- definition, which in itself is pointless if you don't have the right telly. so i'm keeping a close eye on the wii. but in either case i don't see myself buying a new console for another couple of years as there are still a fiar few good ps2 games i have yet to play.

I'm a shallow idiot, so I will probably buy either Xbox or PS3. It's that besides a few games, wii doesn't look like it has that much. And truth be told, I don't really like how wii is shaping up in the graphics department. I mean, I know it's not supposed to be incredible, but I expect something pretty good. It's weird really, I like 2D games but when it comes to 3D, I like it to look very good. That's where that shallow part comes in I guess. Because I don't have more money than god, PS3 is probably out of the question, leaving the Xbox360 (although it's pretty pricey too), especially with Star Trek Legacies. All that being said, the wii is incredibly interesting and I think the control system looks godlike. So yeah, ideally I'll have a friend who has a wii that I can play occasionally . -Drew

personally, i just like a game to look like there's a decent amount of imagination put into it. thats why i love digging out vagrant story (despite having completed it several times) just as much as i hate playing the ps2 gta games (which is a lot). so i suppose the wii encourages developes to actually make the visual disign look truly fresh to compliment the new gameplay modes; not just splatter the same tedious designs in a coat of high definition.

I think it will be interesting to see if and how long it takes for Hidef games to really become Hidef. If you look at the current games running in Hidef there really is very little interms of picture depth to them.... Most really do look like theyve just been upconverted to run the resolution and not much more. I think maybe a year or more down the road [ probably more like 2 with development cycles being what they are ] Hidef gaming could be something very cool. At the moment it really looks largely like one more marketing gimmick for all envolved. Proving once more that most people will buy into anything ... Baaaa ! At some point games designed to really use Hidef resolutions may very well make these consioles worth their purchase prices , but I hardly see it at this point. Heck for the price of the 360 and the PS3 combined I could probably go up a step quality wise on my next Projector or build a pretty kickass SLI equiped PC .. which is something I would probably enjoy alot more ,since its something to tweak and mod constantly, not too mention the number of old, new and everything inbetween gamewise on the PC platform. Im sitting bye and maybe grabbing a Wii fi there is anything gamewise I like. Sofar it all looks sorta meh too me.
