Yup, I can confirm the rumour that the specs aren't too interstellar, closer to current gen than next gen. Tho I'm still interested in it, I reckon this will damage it's mainstream popularity, which is what Nintendo surely don't need.

Im all for a new Pilot Wings ,it should have come back on the GC ! If I have to standup and swing the controller around on most games then I definitly wont be playing too many WI games.... If I want to exercise I will go to the damn gym not play games. Hell if Golf is that much work then I may aswell get my clubs out of the closet and go play it for real, that controller just looks like a pain in the ass to me I think there is a reason that Gravix or whatever its called is failing, people dont want to act their games out in order to play them. For me anyway this is a huge turnoff ,I just want new games that are fun to play. I dont need lame gimmicks like a motion sensor in the controller

Sure their are some games that i'd love to try playing them it, but they should give the player the choice to use a normal controller as well. Using the Wii controller on an FPS sure, that would be interesting, but playing Zelda... The only other thing that has got me worried though is the inexcusably small amount of Nintendo brand games that came out for the GC. Knowing Nintendo, the Nintendo brand games we saw at E3 will be 90% of the exclusive games they'll release on the system at all.

Yeah Im sure 99% of game support will be all Nintendo releases, which probably wont be a bad thing ? But variety is the spice of life so to speak so I hope there will be better 3rd party Dev support than the GC got. As for the controller Im not totally against it ,I just think its a very lame marketing tool to be hyping the console with. Im sure some of the games will be fun to play using it, I just hope it doesnt totally go in that direction and ditch the standard analog/digital controllers we currently use. I think the GC controller may very well be the best analog pad I have ever used ,though I like the flexibility of the Dual Shock 2 more.

Well the GCN did have a much better third party support than its dark days with the N64, so they're making progress, just a little at a time.
While there are mixed reviews on the Wii controller and it's interaction with their games, there was similar controversy when the DS first came out - most believed it was too gimmicky and would be a utter flop compared to the PSP. So after that speculation, am I reserving judgement on whether or not if this'll be a hit or miss untill it's been out for a year when developers get the hang of making games for it. I hope for the best of it though (as with any console). As I always like to see a little something that takes a different approach to gaming. Lord knows there's been way too much of the same out there.

i like the concept though. specialized controllers like the wii controller would mean a lot of arcade-style games and lots of possibilities for really creative games, may it be gimmick or a masterpiece. the good ol' controller is still THE standard though (and the dual shock is probably one of the best controllers ever engineered), so i doubt they're gonna ditch that. with the sony and xbox going with a traditional approach in systems (upgrading graphics and such... and probably show sequels of older games), they're gonna be at an advantage since they're companies that specialize in state-of-the-art technology so nintendo's gotta do something different, and different they did.

True, that's a good thing but i buy Nintendo consoles for their exclusive games so i actually liked the N64 much better. 2 Zelda games, a completely new type of Mario game, Goldeneye, Pilot Wings, Waverace... but looking at GC, 1 Zelda game not even released yet, a short Mario with the same type of gameplay as N64, half of the new franchises they created for the N64 with only superficial upgrades... not nearly as much original or exclusive games to me. I'm in no rush to play new video games lately anyways so i'll probably be patient and see what the Wii has to offer over it's first year before i pick it up.

It's still getting two Zelda games regaurdless. You're also forgeting that the N64 didn't get any Metroid games whatsoever while the GCN managed to score two. While I enjoyed some of the memories playing games on the n64 it becomes pointless to cling to the old stuff, for other than nostalgia purposes, when they manage improve on everything in the newer verisons. I can safely say that I'll gladly take F-Zero GX over F-Zero X, Mario Sunshine over Mario 64, and Paper Mario 2 over PM1. But either way, n64 may have had some good first party exclusives for its time, but it wasn't good enough to combat the PSOne and its mega assortment of third party games. That was one big factor that helped put Nintendo in the spot it is in the console war today.

I didn't mention the F-Zero games or Metroid games because FPS Metroid is boring to me and i haven't liked an F-Zero since the SNES release ;D I forgot about windwaker cause it as too simple for me to get into. Basically my post was flawed I just should have kept it at me liking the N64 more then the GC but when i think about how much most of the GC software dissapointed me it starts up my bias. One thing i can say about the GC is the Donkey Kong Country style bongo platformer is worth buying the system alone to me. It's what is giving me hope that a another new peripheril can can make me excited to play new console games agian.

Yeah if your 7 lol I better but "j/k" or else I may get banned j/k lol Don't tempt me I too was skeptical about the DS when I first heard it had two screens but now owning several games for it I think it worked out very nicely for Nintendo. And heck Solid Snake is playable in the new Smash Brothers game! ;D

Yeah Wario Ware works great on the DS but I wouldnt play it on a big screen. Same as mario party ect.
Everyone at work is calling this the "Nintendo Pee" lol. Whenever we talk about it thats the name. That sounds better than friggin Wee.
Only game I would like on the Pee is a new mario kart and zelda.
