I'm not really listening to any specific band, just various artists from the 60's, 70's, and 80's off my MP3 Player.

Anybody here knows who "The Mars Volta" is? They're a mixture of alot of influences, they kinda remind me of a mix between System of a Down and almost punk (but that doesn't suck). The singer kinda sounds like the dude from Rush and he randomly will start speaking spanish. (It also has some latin influences from time to time) Very interesting.

Heard of Mars Volta, but never listened, will have to look them up some time. At the moment I am listening to Trivium a lot. Good band, some nice guitar work, and some great songs - check this out (from Roadrunners site): Trivium - Pull harder on the strings of your martyr -->Might see them live in March... Kaz

Wow, the band sounds quite good imo. The singer is pretty good when not sreaming. (that shit irritates the hell outta me) He does that in every song?

Mostly screaming yeah, some songs have more singing than others, in fact one or two of the softer songs on their new album are mostly singing. It's funny though, cos most people these days bitch about the clean singing part, not the screaming . Depends on how much you like this type of metal really... I'm more of a fan of bands that do both (but I don't mind either way), provided that the clean singing part isn't cheesy as hell - Trivium, Killswitch Engage, God Forbid and Shadows Fall are probably the best examples imho.
