How do I get a AAA rating for finishing a fight? I've checked and not been able to find a faq that lists the general requirements. I've been able to get up to Grant but I keep getting my ass handed to me, so any strategies on facing him would be appreciated.
So far I've noticed the A.I loves to do a low kick whenever possible and consistently blocking special moves and retaliating with another special or throw. I find Rock Howard's Crack Counter (QCF +B/D) to be all but useless against the A.I. I've all but mastered Terry and working on Rock, I'll be working on the others in due time.

Not sure about a AA grade specifly but to get the highest(miracle?) grade you need to perfect the opponent with nothing but special moves and finish them with a super.

Personally I find simply defeating them as quickly as possible (easier said than done) works wonders for your grades. Using strong characters like Terry and Tizoc (aka The Griffon) works well when you master some combos and/or the art of strong counters (like blocking a burn knuckle and reversing with a Justice Hurricane).

I ask about the AAA grade because I've not been able to reach Kain yet.

Always put your T.O.P. at the very beginning of your health. Just doing that should make a considerable difference in your grades.

I've done that and on average I've gotten 2 S ratings, and three AAA ratings (plus two A ratings and one SSS rating) and I still didn't get to Kain. I even made it easier by continuing and lowering the life bar of my opponent on two occasions (namely Grant).
What am I doing wrong?

I made it! I had the TOP system at the start of my health bar, and this time I beat every match without continuing and I got 'em! Either I've gotten really good as playing as Terry or Kain was a pushover, because I beat him on my second try. Kain is very susceptible to Terry's QCB+Collosal Kick maneuver, and from there when I'm close I just combo the hell out of him. Cool character though, but I'd vote for Grant as the more difficult of the two; with Grant I believe I beat him with pure luck for the most part. You have to keep in mind I'm playing this on a keyboard, so following up on combo-ing is not an easy task. I think I'll invest in a USB converter to use a PS2 controller on my computer for these games.
I believe the A.I is rigged on Rock, because he can do the Rising Tackle while standing while I have to crouch to do it.

I didn't know that, I will exploit that factoid soon. ;D
But yeah, the A.I is in a standing position and is able to do the move.
I just beat Kain using Rock, and I discovered Kain's pattern (so much for a Legacy of Kain, huh? Don't throw tomatoes at me for that pun) it's pretty simple. You let him come to you. Don't approach him and just block his projectiles, and as soon as he's within punching distance advance slightly and attack him with whatever effective combos you've mastered and he's fairly easy.
I completely pwned him using Rock's QCB + weak punch move followed by a strong punch and projectiles.

Thinking of it now. How would you guys like to see the sequel to Garou play out? A direct continuation of this game (all of the same characters included plus a few others) or an entirely different game focusing on... take your pick. I'd go for the later, it would be interesting to play as Rock and Kain (tag team?) and take it from there with an entirely different experience. Though, Terry and at least Tizoc/Griffin would have to be hidden characters in some way. I could really go for something like that.
