Gonzo + Gainax = high production value, and this also goes for Trinity Blood. Three groups battling it out: the Vatican, the Empire (the vampires), and the order of the Rozen Kreuz (if you have watched Chrno Crusade, then you know Gonzo has this thing for German references).
The story revolves around the conflicts between these three groups, with the first episode introducing us to Abel Nightroad, a priest employed by the Vatican. The priest part is nothing more than a cover-up though, because our dearest Abel is blessed with some great powers: if vampires are a breed that feeds on mankind, then Abel is part from a breed that feeds on vampires. Abel also has some kind of magical level-up power (can you say Alucard from Hellsing?). Watch him in action during the first episode, where he powers up to 40 %, and you know that 100 % must be one hell of a bloody ride.
