Shakugan no Shana

My current favo(u)rite anime series. What does it have to offer? Let's see, we've got a sword slashing red haired heroine for starters, called a Flame Haze. Then there is this whole plot of monsters that are trying to consume people, and of course the Flame Haze are there to stop that.

There is some deep potential for existential questions, as it's not really the people that get consumed, but their existence. What a paradox then that the male lead, Yuji, doesn't exist anymore. But wait, he does have this flame installed inside of his body...

Confused? That's the whole idea. Don't worry, they start explaining everything soon enough.

I just love those opening and ending themes. Finally a decent techno beat in there again.

The anime already got licensed before it aired, how about that?
