It honestly makes me wonder if the distributor doesn't see these kinds of things and consider their marketing ploy. I mean, the show hasn't even aired yet and it's already getting so much criticism.

It's not all that surprising. I mean, these guys are attempting to edit a show that will be "acceptable" to people around like 10-12. However, this show would be A LOT more appropriate for Adult Swim. The fact remains that if soccer moms would declare it "too violent" and bitch about it to Cartoon Network, then the guys who licensed it are going to step in some BIG shit. In order to to be "safe", the spineless bastards will slice and dice the eps. So it makes good sense to hate the upcoming dub.

This show should not be on Toonami but Adult Swim if it's going to be aired at all.

(so does the Ranma series w/ all them tit fan service in some episodes ;D )

All they want is money, so reducing a show down to something that is tolerable to be shown on kids TV makes it sell more - afterall, market it to kids and you can also sell them action figures, dvd's etc etc etc... granted, some adults would also buy action figures/models and other merchandise, but it's not exactly going to be as much as kids would spend. You should have seen how quickly the store I worked at sold out of DBZ action figures when the craze originally kicked in a few years back! Oh yeah, not to mention the fact that cutting something means that they can release the censored DVD's first... then release "special edition" versions a while later with everything uncut, so they sell even more . In a way you can't blame them for doing this because to them it's just business, but overall it pisses us fans off to see something we love so much and appreciate ripped apart and shit upon from a great height. Anyway, although this one might be a joke, raiken is right because I have seen stuff like this happen before. Anyone remember the painted on bikinis in Tenchi, among many others? Kaz

Your right Kaz. The "special edition" DVDs of DBZ and Yu-Gi-Oh are now availible in the States. Of course, I could have gotten them sooner if I wanted to (and I don't) thanks to an import store within walking distance of my house.

Didn't really care though since there were already uncut dvds available at the time. I don't really care what it looks like on tv but those edited only dvds piss me off. If you're gonna market this shit just release a dvd with both versions instead of making me wait forever because of an age difference Buddha revels in the butchering of Naruto ;D
