This anime just continues to get better and better for me. I'll be up to volume 4 by the end of the month and I heavily look forward to it. The action sequences are dead on with the movies and the series is easy to watch even if you haven't seen them.

Awesome series, and one with my favourite ever intro music (season 2's opening music is equally good in fact). I really enjoyed most of the storyline in this series, and it definitely gives you a lot to think about. As for the action sequences, they are pretty damn good... my fave would have to be in episode 7 I think it was ;D. I won't spoil it for those that haven't seen it though... Here's a link some of you may find interesting that I dug up a while ago: www.destroy-all-monsters.com/sacepisodeguide.shtmlAn episode guide that explains all episodes (as some of them can be a little confusing), and is worth a read even if you *do* understand them. It doesn't cover all the episodes (up to episode 21), but it goes very in-depth into the story of each episode and even points out other things (movies etc) that may have influenced the episode in question, as well as random trivia about certain things. Very interesting reading Kaz

Check this news from saiyaman.info:
New Anime Pulls in the Viewers for Adult Swim In their first month on Adult Swim, Fullmetal Alchemist and Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex showed an impressive average growth of 92% and 79% respectively over the same time slot last year among adults 18-34. With men 18-34 increasing 72% and 44%, the bulk of the growth came in the form of newfound female viewers, increasing 130% during Fullmetal Alchemists time slot and 168% during Stand Alone Complex's time slot.
Overall, Fullmetal Alchemist averaged 492,000 adult 18-34 viewers while Stand Alone Complex averaged 428,000.
Adult Swim continued to be the number 1 programming block on basic cable for adults 18-34 in November and grew its audience in that demographic by 24% overall compared to a year ago, with the 18-34 female audience increasing by 88%.
Seem GITS is doin pretty well huh. It seems to me that its more popular outside of Japan.

Yup. They've already finished airing all of GITS 2nd Gig in Japan. Hopefully they'll give us a 3rd series too.

one with my favourite ever intro music Yeah, that one was awesome. My neighbors must have heard that one lol. Definitely a couple of confusing episodes, so you had to stay focused all of the time or before you knew it, you missed a crucial part. As a whole definitely a solid package. Weren't those spiderbots totally endearing?

Yep, Tachikomas friggin rule! ;D Anyone have any idea if you can buy models of the ones from the manga/tv series? I recently picked up a few newly released mini figures based on the movie and one of those was a tachikoma, but I really want some of the more "cutesy" ones from the series. Gonna have to look around methinks ;D
Gotta love the Tachikoma-kun mini series that ran alongside the main program... I take it those are included on the official DVD?

i wasn't much of a GITS fan... 'til i watched this one. was able to watch this a few times in Animax (an anime channel in the Philippines) and i instantly wanted to watch it some more. i'm not totally sidetracked nor confused much of the story (though i think i wasn't able to watch the more complex ones, i suspect).
