This anime needs no introduction. I got the first movie several years ago and loved it. It has some spectacular imagery and the futuristic stuff is awesome. I wasn't aware of the stand alone complex series until awhile after it came but soon I will have the dvds for it.

A classic anime film, i've always liked it but it tends to try and be to deep for it's own good at times and can be boring during some parts. SAC is cool, i've dled a few epiodes now but what i'm really anticipating is the sequel to the movie.

watched it, but even though it has a great animation, a large amount of fans and a very nice theme, i'm not particularly interested in it for some reason. the ending was quite a surprise though

Ghost in the Shell is one of my all time faves but it took me a while to fully appreciate it. True story: after watching it twice, me and a friend both agreed that it wasn't that great a movie and then didn't watch it again for more than a year. Then the Ghost in the Shell PS1 game came out and we both enjoyed playing that... after completing it I suggested we watch the movie again just to see if we had changed our minds on it... neither of us said a word through the movie, and after it finished we just looked at each other and said... "fuck... how come we didn't like it before??". We then watched it the whole way through again ;D The series is great too, and as I said to Daaren the other day both series 1 and 2 if SAC have my favourite anime opening songs of all time. The movie has really great music as well imho! Kaz ps supreme - GITS has some nudity (nothing major though)... you must be really young if your older bro won't let you watch it

Yeah that movie rocks I bought it recently at a musicstore, i was so happy It must be the best animation i've seen in an anime till now Really stylish and cool looking, i love the futuristic setting *About the nudity, Kusanagi tends to get naked often, especialy when she cloaks herself

I just watched this agian to jog my memory. I forgot how totally excellent the animation was, to this day some of the best and must fluid i've ever seen. The soundtrack's beautiful also. I'm gonna try and look for a version that's subbed before i rewatch it and re-study the story cause i can't watched dubbed anime anymore without feeling sick to my stomach.
I'm dling the raw of the sequel now, hopefully it will have some badass action scenes also (it better, it's the only thing i'll be able to get outta it ;D)

Bah.... so i dl a file thats 700 megs, thats about 40 megs larger then the one i've seen on suprnova thats the "30fps cam" garbage quality thingy and what do it get.... the largest trailer i've ever. It was about 30 minutes of the best animation/cg mix i've ever seen. It was way too long to be a trailer and all it did was show scenery from the different locations relating to the innocence movie and the main characters while playing neat music inspired from the first movie. Anyways, it was lots of amazing eye candy so i wasn't totally disapointed with but there's no way i'm watching some 30fps raw bootleg and i just found out the R2 dvd release that's coming out in about a week won't contain subtitles So it will be a long time before we'll get to see a good version most likely. (or untill an R2 dvd rip is fansubbed)

(or untill an R2 dvd rip is fansubbed) I got the 6 minute long trailer and it looked absolutely amazing, although I must say that in places the 3D stuff didn't mix well with the characters (In the original GITS I thought it was perfectly done), but I'll wait until I have seen the whole movie before I judge it. One thing I will say however is that having Batou as the main character is a refreshing change of direction... not that I don't like the Major, but Batou is cool as hell! The storyline does sound pretty good too from what I have heard. I'd bet everything I have on a sub of the DVD coming out within a few weeks of the DVD's release. Can't wait for the official UK or US DVD to come out though so I can buy that! Kaz

I'm also happy about Batou being the main character, on the giant file i dled the begining showed him driving around the city in his car for a while.
I understand what you mean about the 3d and 2d not mixing very well, i agree that in some parts they do and others they don't but i'm still yet to see an anime movie do a better job in mixing them.
The movie is beautiful in sound and picture but i just hope it actually explains more and feels more complete then the first GITS movie.
