A new samurai anime that's supposed to premier in july, i like most of production I.G.'s work and i won't be supprised if it turns out to be great. (Lots of high quality samurai anime coming out lately, a very good thing if you ask me.) Lots of high quality samurai anime coming out lately, a very good thing if you ask me yeah, me too, im also currently waiting for samurai champloo and watching meace maker kurogane... samurai rulz!  |

Err...I think it's not a samurai anime. I'll roughly give a description of the plot. It is set in the era where famine and diseases are common. Seeing this, Minamotono Raikou, a famous archer, set out on a journey to find a legendary jade. But he is infected by the disease as well. So, his sister, Minamotono Hikaru, replaces him to look for the jade.
Therefore, the 'guy' with a bow is actually a female, while the one that looks like a female with long hair is actually a guy.

So, i just watched the first episode. It's actually one of the most unique anime i've ever seen in a way and i love the artwork overall but the frames of animation give the show an overall lazy feel. It's doesn't flow as well as GITS, SAC, or the Kill Bill animation scene and doesn't nearly have the style and good direction of SC which makes it kind of a disapointment.
I may check it out agian when it's subbed and find that i like the story line but i can't say from the animation alone that it's something i could recomend.
