I thought this movie wasn't half bad. I especially liked the robot cop guy and his attitude. Actually haven't watched it in awhile so I should probably give it another viewing.

one of Tezuka's great works (bless his soul),and the people who did the moview did a great jo, the movie was a bit kiddy imo, the manga was a bit more lengthy and serious, still its one of the best ive seen... the the musical scoring was superb, in an ironic kinda way its like the situation in Astroboy, where Robots were starting to rebel against Humans, and humas are destroying the robots cuz of them being a threat to thier existence... but here, its gone a bit darker and more violent than astroboy... im guessing the setting is about 10-20 years after astroboy's time, where the "future" world is at its highest and they are about to fall, thus a renaissance is about to start... cool -the robot dude who was with the boy look liked Q form SF3 (maybe thats where capcom got it)

Holy wow! It's an anime I've seen.
Anyway, my abosolute favorite person was Rock Red. He reminded me a lot of Protoman from Megaman series. Especially in proportion of size of his body. IE: take a look at his legs, they fan out like a megaman robot!
Not to mention he was total badass. I completely forget what happened to him at the end now that I think back on it. Probably died or something. Heck the only thing I remember from the end is the robot girl tryig to kill people and hanging from wires above the city.

I enjoyed Metropolis immensely, a lot of people complain about the style, but I think the simple character design amidst vast artistic backgrounds worked great.

There's attention to detail everywhere in this anime. With every new view, you'll discover other things that went unnoticed before. And dare I mention that the dvd supports dts surround sound? Finally somebody realised that anime benefits just as much from high quality surround sound as regular movies.
