Palette Hacking?

I was wondering if anyone here knows of any rom hacking tools that can be used to edit the character palettes in Neo Geo games. I'm talking about something like the color edit in the console KOF games, CVS series, etc. I'm not looking to release hacks, just to mess with the palettes of my own roms for my own use. I've tried searching online, but haven't found anything I could use to try it.

Before anyone says anything about it, I know about NeoPal on here already. I had downloaded it before, but accidentally deleted it. I already tried the links in the thread to get it back. They're broken now.

Yeah I was going to suggest trying that, although I don't have a copy of it lying around anymore - any other members here still have it at all?

You could try private messaging the author - he's not been here for a while I don't think, but if he gets a notification for the private message in his email inbox he might respond. Worth a try I guess...

Ok, I'll do that then. I have this same question on 1emulation as well. Someone there mentioned something about changing the color slot in a cheat file, but he/she said that they're not sure if it'll work in any game other than Samurai Shodown. Have you heard of anything like that?

Not really to be honest, I haven't experimented with any of this kind of stuff all that much before before to tell you the truth.
