Hi Klarkus!
I think that it's got something to do with how the indivdual rom files in the zip are named. It was a while back since i last used Kawaks 154, but I think I had to rename certain rom files to numbered bin files to get games working. (the format is given when you try to load a rom that you don't have and says c1-XXX.bin is missing). This is very irritating and time consuming though, so I wouldn't recommend it.
However, the relevance of this is a bit questionable, as a few weeks back, I was doing a bit of browsing and found that kawaks 1.55 was out. Apparantly, the compatibility with certain roms has been improved. Why not give it a try. I've had no trouble with it so far.

I think that Super SF2 Turbo was an upgraded version of Super Street Fighter 2: The New Challengers, which was on the CPS2 hardware. Hence for Turbo to work on any emu, you'll probably need the 'New Challengers' rom as well, as an emu sees the turbo rom as an add-on.
Just to test, I've managed to get SSF2 Turbo working on Kawaks 155, though I stick to playing this game on home console ports. Just looking at this made me realise how many versions of SF2 there are. If they stuck with separate SF titles rather than upgrades they'd probably be onto SF17 by now!
btw I like your zangief avatar

The same thing has happened to me before with some SF2 roms even when i get them from a trusting source. It's odd but you'll just have to keep trying different versions till something works. That or config the rom dats & all that poop.

Yeah ive got 6 versions of it. The best one is probably the Super Turbo X (the jap one). Ive not got any consoles anymore (oh yeah a gamecube) so I just tend to play my fighters on the emu.
