conspiracy! no, the records were taken from japanese gaming magazines (which did require proof).
i thought my blazing star score was good (now at 8.8 million), till i saw the record was 74.................................................................
but hey, all it takes is practice...

There are many photos and videos in Japan, and some game center sell a "super-play" movie recorded in the same game center. fatal fury 2 scores are real, and i saw them

lol there must be some real dedigamers out there who play the games that much untill they get a complete perfect over the whole game, just imagine how many times they had to restart until they did it or getting all the way to krauser then getting hit hehe
When i set out to beat the game with over a million points i had to make sure i won my first five fights in perfects to stand any chance of doing it and the amount of times i had to reset it drove me mad but worth it in the end as over a million is good enough for me,
I used any bogard with his elbow move, yet in ff special i was crap with him as that move was given a time delay
i did get my name and picture in game pro magazine about ten years ago i still got the cut out when i got the high score in 4 events in california games on the master system
even today i feel that 8 bit game was awesome goes to show you dont need 128 plus bits to make a good game

the way for 1.700.000+ is very difficult. All perfect is necessary but not is all.
extra round battle is fundamental. Usually, in these replay, D = x 22/23. And total rounds is 48.
D = double KO or draw game.
for each character, number of rounds are 4: round 1: perfect, round 2: D, round 3: D or lose, round 4: perfect.
still... when you have zero life and your enemy have the same your energy, you can perform a throw. Throw with time 0 is 3.000 pts and not 1.000 pts.
the pattern for perfect play are very several.
all FF2 score are perform with autofire.
