So... according to some news updates I have seen: 1. B.Jenet, Kim Kaphwan and Mignons sister are all in the game. B.Jenet being in there is very cool I think, so that's very welcome. There's a scan of a magazine article showing B.Jenet at cyberfanatix: cyberfanatix.com/2. The USA name for the game will now be "The King of Fighters 2006". The reason for this is probably because Max Impact didn't sell all that great, so they didn't wanna give the sequel the same sub title. I can understand that but I still think it's a horrible idea... as much as I actually enjoy MI (I still think it's a fun game, if not amazing), I don't want it being even remotely mixed up with the 2D series. Again, there's a pic of the KOF 2006 logo at cyberfanatix.com/Thoughts? Kaz

kof 2006! *bangs head against wall.* i wasn't too keen on the first kof:mi since most of the new characters like alba, soiree and that nina williams rip off lick dog's balls imho. the whole thing just made me want to reach for aof 3 and garou after twenty minutes. the sequel looks a little more promising and although luise looks kind of interesting i'm not losing sleep over this one.

Agreed, it's an insult to the KOF series to call it by the yearly names as even though KOF MI is a fine game it's still light years away from being nearly as polished as its older cousins. Anyway, the design is good and the parry system seems interesting. Kim and Jenet is going to please fans but I'm not sure about the new "Mishima" Ryo ^ ^;

i know. the first one was fun, but no where near as rewarding and imaginative as kof proper. i can understand why capcom made the street fighter ex games since the psone was shit at 2d stuff so a 3d street fighter along with perfect ports of star gladiator and rival schools provided some sort of compensation for the saturn getting amazing ports of the vs. games. in fact i remember quite liking the first e.x. game with its gaurd breaks and mid air cancelling shiz. but now i don't see the point of 3d versions of 2d fighters, since the current and future generations of consoles can easily do perfect ports of any arcade game. another thing i don't like is that not only do these games effctively rule out that 70% finished sequel to garou ever seeing the light of day (that's assuming falcoon wasn't playing some sick joke on us when he saif kof:mi would replace aof and ff ) but in associating it with the yearly kof thing makes them even less credible since they're going to be judged against classics like kof 98, and no doubt suffer for it. in fact, the worst aspects of kof:mi represent what is in my opinion the worst aspects of the playmore regime.

Hey guys sorry I have not been here for awhile. I must say that I am not happy with the news to be quite honest. Personally I enjoyed KOF MI since it was suppose to deal with "Southtown" rather than the usual Kyo/Iori/K Orochi and Nests Deal. Also Playmore had stated that MI was going to be the continuation of FF/AOF which now since it's called KOF 06 and what seems to deal with More Kyo and Iori is no longer the case.

The reason for this is probably because Max Impact didn't sell all that great, so they didn't wanna give the sequel the same sub title. I hate that they're doing it and think it's a horrible idea as well. I still feel that we're not gonna see anymore 2d kof games. My guess is next well see "Samurai Showdown: Maximum Impact"

Got the game... dunno about doing a full review cos I doubt I will have time, but so far the game does seem cool. Have you guys seen some of the hidden characters? Hattori Hanzo is in there for one, along with Fio, Lilly Kane and a bunch of others! ;D
Not got much time to play it today, but I will be spending a whole load of time on it over the weekend.

Playing it right now, they quite improved on the first one The graphics are great, ther character models are way more detailed than before, the stages are awesome and the music suits well each of them. Im against some guy named Javitma (something like that) and he gots some cheap moves.....

The Hanzo & Mr. Karate models look very neat. It makes me kinda wanna play the game but knowing how the gameplay is i'm not going to buy it. So fellas, do you think the ability to abuse grounded and cornered opponents is still as important as in the first game? In what ways do you think it was improved other then visually? Almost forgot, i'm havin a nice lol over Armor Ralph:

So i decided to give this game a "Test Drive" and i'm actually enjoying myself. Recovery time from the ground is still a bit too long imo but it's much better. The gameplay this time around is actually reasonable and i'm having a good time. (All the extremely metro sexual alternate outfits make me lol ;D) I can actually get a couple of my friends that normally wouldn't touch a kof game to play it with me. They can get somewhere from time to time by button mashing but i can still prosper by using training and reason. It's fun for everyone

I'll probably get it when it's on sale. KOF XI takes priority right now.

KOF XI takes priority right now. You're definately making the right choice. MI2 is far better then the first but it's exremely unbalanced and skill isn't nearly as rewarded as in the 2d games. Long Tekken style combo's just don't mix well with kof's move system.

I'm still enjoying this game. Sure the combo's are very easy but their is just something about the ability to nearly finish somebody with one opportunity that's exciting. With the amout of nostalgia and variety of characters from snk history this game brings about i guess i can't help but enjoy it. With some more tweaking and parrying system that doesn't suck this series has some potential.
Impressions, anyone else?

Got to agree with you The combos are easy, gameplay isnt perfect too but the overall presentation and content of the game is GREAT I mean, you have a bunch of cameos, cool stages, good music +bunch of moves variations and new moves that never appeared in any other KOF Cant help but enjoy it too lol Been playing all the day with my friend
