Read the latest **RUMOUR** post I just made on the site - I really hope this turns out to be true, and that they do what I mentioned in the news post... but remember this really is just an unconfirmed rumour at the moment that came from an unknown source (although it won't surprise me at all if it is true). ya, read about it too  im getting excited, since SamSho was SNK's magnumopus so to speak, i home YukiEnt. makes good use of thier great property... oohh man, i hope they continue the Warriors Rage story, the Hanzo there looked grea imo, anyways, SNK's back! and i mean BACK! |

Not many PS2 games... proves how much SCEA hates us! I wouldn't call it hate, more a distinct lack of interest in (and looking down on) the 2D genre. Been like that since the Playstation was released. The Maniax part in the KOF:MI title for Xbox suggests that there would be... extras? ;D |

The complete name of the game would be Kenkyaku something (Kenkyaku Matsuri?)
The game would be the continuation of that mysterious Supisupe kanzenban. The computer is not as violent as in Supisupe, (no impossible reaction time).
No new character, everyone from SS0 (just some minor tweaks), no boss character from Supisupe. Several characters from older games would come back.
Their sprites would be new, the rest would be directly from SS0.
2 or 3 characters from the H64 Polysamu (Shiki's sprite is not SvC), no character from the PS1 Polysamu (w).
The button layout and system commands (like the D button actions and all) have changed a lot (because of the E button.)
The kenki gauge is still here, and another mysterious gauge as well.
The backgrounds use polygons are look far better than the sprites : KOF Nowave's nightmare is back, only it's worse this time because the sprites are even older.
The ability to kill you opponent is not here, but the blood effects are the same as in SS0.
There wouldn't be any story.
Some special moves would have transparency effects(w).

If this is true i'm seriously giving up on SS games by SNKP. After Kof Neowave i have pretty much given up on new Kof games and i suppose SS will be the next thing permanently sullied to me.

Some older characters coming back (Cham Cham & Gen-an Shiranui please!!!), but that is the only positive thing I can take from that rumour. If it is true, than I'm with you on this one Goemon.
Thanks for posting it though - I would post it on the site, but I have to head off for work very soon (and will write the weekly update when I get back). If anyone else feels like posting this rumour on the front page in the meantime, feel free ;D

Cos thats what mainstreamers like - it's not just kiddies, but mainstream gaming adults too. Here's an example... I work in a store where we are selling import PSP's and also a few Nintendo DS's. Before I say what I'm about to say, I do own a PSP and plan on buying a DS later this year as I like them both... Anyway, you should hear the kind of comments we get from gamers that come in here to look at both consoles. Here's a few real comments I've heard: 1. "OMG, look how shit and old school that Nintendo one looks like! I heard its got SNES style graphics ennit?" 2. "The PSP is gonna be way better yo... PSP is like having PS2 in your hands, who cares what games are out when it's got gfx like that?" 3. "I don't know why anyone would want to buy that new handheld Nintendo Playstation!" Those really are all real comments...1 and 2 show how dumb many gamers are, while 3 shows how ignorant they are. By ignorant I mean the fact that SO MANY people use "Playstation" as an umbrella phrase to refer to ALL consoles and PC's. such is the way they have allowed themselves to be been brainwashed in recent years. Anyway, I'm not really hating on any particular console as I'm the sort of person who tends to buy all the consoles that come out providing there are games that interest me, I don't care who they are by and which has the best gfx, I just buy em all when i can afford them and just concern myself with the important part: playing games that I find fun  The only thing that irks me is that all these ignorant gamers are the real people to blame for a deluge of unoriginal games, or games that have great gfx and nothing else. The companies mainly want to make money and survive (they are businesses afterall), so they simply provide gamers with what the majority of them want. If gamers turn their noses up at 2D games no matter how good they are, companies like Sony won't make them. If more of them opened up their minds and enjoyed them for what they are instead of just labelling anything 2D as "cartoony", "for kids" or "old school", then perhaps SCEA would re-think its stance, maybe SNK would actually try to do some new stuff, and perhaps Capcom would still be pumping out good 2D titles too.
