This doesn't surprise me. With so many other projects under their belt SNKP is probably too busy.

Its not being replaced by KOF NeoWave, on the article its says "a KOF that's different from a 'KOF2004', or a 3D game like 'KOF Maximum Impact', or the KOF NeoWave ". Nevertheless I hope they deliver. After KOF 2003 I was getting really excited about KOF 2004.

Its not like SNKP to skip kof2k4. It's alright for me if its delayed as long it is not skiped.

I am actually happy about this, although I love KOF and would have lapped up yet another yearly incarnation, you gotta admit that something drastic is needed to give the series a fresh lift. Don't get me wrong, KOF 2003 went a long way towards doing this with it's new characters and tag system as well as an interesting new chapter in the storyline... but I still feel that if they delay the next KOF a bit and drop the yearly installments, they would have the extra time to tune the game and make it much better. I know it's probably still too much to ask, but maybe this will give them time to implement hi-res sprites too? Imagine if they turned out a KOF that followed on from KOF 2003's story, improved the gameplay further and made it look something akin to that picture of the original Orochi battle that was posted on the KOF site a while back? I would definitely go nuts over that! Anyways, I know it's sad that yearly KOF's seem to be over as it has become a tradition for all of us over the years... but as they say, all good things must come to an end, and sometimes this is eventually for the best... I've pretty much given up on a new Kof as good as the pre 2k1 editions at this point. Kof 2k3 was decent and Neowave is just the same rehashed poo with some pretty new bg's. If things don't turn out alot more improved next year i quit

i could have so done w/o neowave, and that even worse maximum impact that i bought the first day it came out iv 49.99 plus tax
kofmi is no tekken killer...they should have wasted their time on a re-used kof 2003 and threw in some non updated sprites iv kof04
