This is from the KOF 10th Anniversary site, before you get too excited bear in mind it's just a mock up of the original Orochi battle from one of SNK's main sprite artists (I think that is who he is, I'm just going off what Fygee from neo-geo.com said but I think that's right):  God dammit... can you imagine if they did a remake of KOF '97 with it looking like that, or indeed if the KOF series moved to having gfx like that in the future. It would take an horrendously long time and lots of work to do it, but we can dream I guess ;D. edit: hmmm, I just thought... I can't remember the exact origins of the whole Orochi battle etc, but how about SNK doing a KOF-Zero set in the past (maybe a better name though, lol  ) that centered around that original battle? Could be an idea for an interesting side-project  Kaz

I guess Orochi is just a superbeing without sexuality. "It" looks like a female and male,while Chris is a boy. So it´s not human, i guess.
The sprites look stunning.

well, ive seen this since last week, really stunning, made bt yamasaki i think (gfx artist).... you should check out his interview too

well, ive seen this since last week, really stunning, made bt yamasaki i think (gfx artist).... you should check out his interview too  Yeah I read a translation of the interview with Nona (which was actually pretty damn cool, see neo-geo.com's news forum for that), but I haven't seen a translation of the interview with the gfx designer and without any proper Japanese skills I can't read it. If anyone sees a translation of it, let me know  Kaz

would not mind a revolutionary era of gaming like that one. they would have to increase the gauge levels to at least three to four rows and increase the impact of the characters's powers to have impact.
