I am thinking of going the MVS route and I was wondering which supergun would be better: Great Western or Mas Systems. I was thinking of going Mas because their warranty is longer, but since I am new to this I figured it would be better to get some veteran input. Thank you for your time.

To be honest I don't think you can get the GW Trading supergun anymore as I'm not even sure if they are still trading. I also heard that the MAS systems Supernova is a better buy and gives better picture, so you might be better off going for that anyway. In my opinion you are better off building your own Supergun if you have the know how (unlike me ), as it isn't too hard at all for someone with some electronical expertise, it will be cheaper, and it also means you can make it exactly the way you want it etc. If that doesn't sound like the best way for you and you'd prefer to get a ready made one, then the MAS Systems one is a good idea if you have the cash for it. Failing that, you could ask over at neo-geo.com as there are a lot of people on the tech support forum there who build superguns for people, or even modify an MVS board itself that you can plug it directly into your TV (if you only want to use it for Neo stuff of course). There's members like "Supergoose" and "thegreathopper" (a UK guy who built one for me), and a few others, so if you ask there someone might be able to help. Just out of interest are you from the US or elsewhere? If you need any more help then let me know Kaz

GW Trading offers better customer support and is quick to answer any and all questions in a timely manner (I own an HGA 1.3.) MAS Systems, on the other hand, offers little to no customer support at times, yet I'd have to say that they offer a slightly better product from the time I've spent with their Supernova. There are many members of the forums of www.neo-geo.com that are quite established in this field; unfortunately, few of them currently make superguns upon request. N-G.com forum member and moderator D-Lite offers an excellent quality Supergun, and he will tailor it to your specifications. Swing by the forums, register, log in, and copy and paste the following address to send D-Lite a private message (remember you must be logged into the N-G forums): www.neo-geo.com/forums/private.php?do=newpm&u=4637In my opinion the absolute best of the best is the Sigma AV series. If you can manage to track down a Sigma AV 6000/7000 you won't be disapointed, as they offer a superb product. It's a factory produced supergun of Japanese make that is known for it's reliability and quality. Every so often one will pop up on eBay so patience is your best bet if you decide to go for one of these.

If you want a really nice custom supergun then Supergoose over at neo-geo.com is the man to talk too. Well he used to be anyway ,Im sure he is probably still into them ,Broken does some extremely nice work as well. Personally I say build youre own ,they arent really all that tough to build and can be alot of fun if youre into tinkering , plus if youre new to all of this its a great way to learn alot of the basics as to how all this sort of hardware works. Which ever way you choose to go have fun with it
