How and where could I get this atomiswave and what price range are we talking about here? As for ports...I hate them...or at least I dont like them. Somehow they never live up to the original (  hail neo geo   ), maybe its because they were simply meant to be played as the arcade games they are ( read "with the badass in your face neo geo controllers!!" oh how I love them ). I even bought two of those big arcade controllers for my playstation back in the days just to get the same feel but it never worked... Thanks for the welcome I have wandered alot of dutch forums to find fellow neo lovers but alas...hardly ever found anyone who knew what I was talking about. Here I am the one who doesnt know whats being talked about...sometimes its better to learn than to teach

How and where could I get this atomiswave and what price range are we talking about here? Not sure of the best places to buy AW stuff, but last I hard they were still mostly selling games with the system, not seperately (that may have changed though). They are very expensive though, to get a setup with either a cab or some sort of modified AW that could plug into a TV, then a game a two, you would be looking at spending the best part of $1000, maybe more? I haven't really looked into it though so I'm not sure how accurate that is now, but it would be expensive that's for sure. Probably not worth it now anyway, especially as there aren't too many games available. I know what you mean, but to be honest I think the ports are very good these days. In many cases I would rather play the Neo Geo original though. As for the controllers, it might be worth buying one of those new Neo Ge ocontrollers for the PS2 when they come out (see the thread here... provided the build quality is good No probs, once again I hope you enjoy your stay here... we have a small but friendly community and are always happy to see good new members Kaz

Is it correct that you can play the old neo geo msv games on the atomiswave? Also can you plug any atomiswave into your tv and play or would you need someone to modify it or something (I know you said something like that, not sure I understand).

Sry Taz, the MVS and the Atomiswave are made by different companies so that's a no go unless you could mod it though I don't know where. I just thought of something. If the company is called WAREZ, then maybe the boss will be so cheap, he's free.

a bit of info: (based on what i have gatherd) the Atomiswave was based on Sega's line of NAOMI arcade systems, which were basically very similar Dreamcast hardware, one of the main differences between AW and NAOMI was that the AW uses carts, not GD-roms/CD-roms, so it may load faster (probably) (and said to have a "better; graphical capability, not sure bout that though), but the sound suffers a lot (mostly bgm's), if you compare Guilty Gear XX NAOMI and Guilty Gear X 1.5 AW, you'll see slight differences in the quality of the music, but nothing serious (i didnt bother mentioning the original Guilty Gear X on the NAOMI becuz the game, even if it's in GD-rom format, didnt have Arranged music, but mostly Midi/Keyboard generated type of music)
there are two types of AW afaik, the first released models then the AW-net (again, im not sure, dont scream on me if im wrong), the AW-net has a broadband connection which lets you play and compare scores over with other AW's connected in different locations, just like what the people are are doing in KOF NeoWave, but, like most technologies, only Japan takes full advantage of this feature, so it's prolly useless outside Japan...
if you buy an AW these days, maybe the retailer will include Dolphin Blue (a very mediocre shooter game), but has pretty gfx

New to the site, (mvs owner, japanese sitdown style cabinet with a 4-slot)
Anyway, I want Captain Kidd on the roster. Pirates are always fun.

I was playing World Heroes perfect the other day and was going at it with Captain Kid, almost never used him before but he was a lot more fun to play with then the standart characters indeed.
Still a shame they didn't include Yashiro, he's pure punchingfun, no fireballs at all.

New screens are up and here is what I managed to figure out: Yuki got this laser beam move and super punch move. Ai has a projectile and teleport, might play like Athena. There will be blood to spill. ;D You can see Mr. Karate's nipples. Robert will have new moves to go with his new badass look.

You can see Mr. Karate's nipples. [ /quote] The new punch sprite looks awesome. And if you're revering to the shade in the inner side of Ryo's chest..............eh.............i don't think normal persons have their nipples so close to the middle, especially if you've got a trained body like Ryo's, i think it's just shade. Every time i look i can't but drool at the detailed last resort ship in the background, i love that background stage.

With the storyline that makes a few jokes about warez etc, and these characters that use famous Neo games as a basis for their moves, I think it is a really nice touch by SNK. I think I heard the tag system was similar to KOF 2003's, so I assume that blue bar is the tag bar... Kaz

I've so i think they should have gone with Neo & Geo as new characters to tribute the old SNK games for their moves, instead of adding 2 kiddies that look like they aren't old enough to rent adult movies without holding daddy's hand. Still a shame they never have done anything with all those awesome designs that were in KOF 2000 from the another strikers.
