I like this game, though I can't really say that it's my favorite. No rolling is fine with me, I rarely use it anyway in any KOF games. But the lack of running really affects me. The addition of dialogues is a nice idea, but I think SNK should think more about the conversations. Some conversations are just silly, e.g. Kasumi's.
About the characters, I love to use Shiki and Zero. Demitri surprised me, he looks really cool, though I never like him in Darkstalkers. Evil Ken and Riot Iori are not needed.

I love the engrish and the sillyness of the conversations, if they where totally serious (i've never seen good serious dialouge in a fighter ever) it just wouldn't be as fun imo.
I really don't see the balance issues that people where talking about besides the always overpowered hidden bosses. (there are a few that are balanced like Geese & Dan but anyone i play will agree not to use the bosses at all considering some are cheap) Characters like Vega, Balrog, & Bison are pretty much always gonna suck imo with their time consuming moves that's why i wish they would have added somebody most people would actually use like Fei Long or Cammy.

I can't really disagree with you about the dialogues. Fun conversations are needed. But sometimes I just can't make any sense out of their conversations. They talked and suddenly just fight. But the one I really like is between Shiki and Shin Gouki. Not exactly a dialogue, but the characters' expression just look great.

I agree, i know he's just another of the many bruice lee clones in fighters but i still love him ;D I'm almost glad there isn't an SvC machine at my local arcade cause if anybody tired busting some cheapness like selecting Red Aremer (or whatever his name is) on me i'd surely uppercut his punk ass toasty style.

Heh He isn't playable in the arcade though. I like his character personally because he actually takes a little bit of skill to win with unlike athena and his summons are cool.

This is sad I never read this rooms chat-it was an old post. I would have made the old(SFCC) faster and played it more like SFZ3. it didn't go that way; Ken became almost unplayable to a pro and I reverted to gouki but Mr Karate became such a boss that I began too appreciate change. Shin Gouki became a cheap boss like the kof games from past but this game was different too different. But the game isn't for neither the purist streetfighter or the KoF but dare i say this novice. The game doesn't gell their are so many naff characters, I couldn't comprehend the roster at first. The extra characters some good but the rest seemed cheap and no thought made. If the second was made I would include Ash crimson, Duo Lon, Shen Woo, Joe Higashi, Guile, Gouki, ken and create the fable that is Shen-Long! I would have a few more characters but create a game like garaou mark of the wolves, less equals more. Maybe ken would move as intended ps.gouki makes up for him:)

I finally got to play it more indepths and here's what I think (Blog repost)
Finally got to play it. People that say this game is broken........ARE DAMN LIARS Now I played this on MAME with a crappy PS2 Controller but Enough to hear the music and absorb it.
Things I like- Violent Ken Owns you Shiki is really hot Great animation Decent music Prefight Intros and Conversations even in VS mode. Mai is in her Nests Saga form. The Annoucer Genjuro is aweome
Things I don't like or are nitpicking about- If this takes Place after Nests where's K' ? Why No Garou Chracters? where's Ralf and Clark? Where's Mary? Where is Yun and Ibuki? Why only Tessa and Demtri? Mars People is the dumbest fighting game Character ever they should've used Fio or Marco. Playing this on a ps2 pad is Thumb Genocide (Playing any fighter on a ps2 pad is Thumb Genocide) What exactly is an Exceed move? The Graphics are pixelated where Last Blade 2 and Shodown V (which I also played along with KOF 2002 and 98) are not Capcom Characters look Weird SNKized Terry's Vioce is Different While the music is good nothing really stuck in my head I lost my Ryo VS Genjuro Rematch (I was Genjuro)
YOU CAN'T ESCAPE
End Transcription
Is there a website with all the convos?

Ummm... Guile, Ken and Gouki are in the first one anyway Kaz I kept the three because its a capcom tradition too regurgitate character rosters. Although a snk playmore title I thought the second should host ken as originally intended and fight like a capcom character fast, precise and as SFZ3 intended. As for the other two Gouki is a cheaper Ken but devasting and Guile plays like Ash Crimson so would make a great SNK Vs Capcom match. Though this read like my previous post it was strongly overlooked that the addition of Shen-Long would make the streetfighter franchise all that more real. Bring on the legend!

i actually quite liked this game. though like mr. kazuya over there, i also think the neo geo pocket match of the millennium still remains the best crossover title to date.
from there though its all gone a little bit repetative which each game having less and less new to add. a little like the time sf2 was all the rage and capcom kept updating it so much that the only way to make it seem fresh again was to completely overhaul it with street fighter alpha.
so the strange and unfamiliar roster, e.x. moves and the first decent announer for a long time kinda reminded me of when i played sfa for the first time and once again started to take interest in the series.
that said, it does have its faults, having to beat the game within a certain time in order to see the endings was many lame, so too were some of the backgrounds like the abandoned station and factory which were rushed, bland, and generally crap, as well as the lack of dodges and running. also, it would nice if they changed mai's voice so it wasn't so bloody annoying when she wins.
but having said that, i found playing the capcom characters in an snk style was certainly more fun than the case in cvs2 where some characters like iori and joe were virtually unstoppable, while others like mai and athena played as if they were seriously monged.
and while the backgrounds in svc on the whole arn't up there with say, the best from kof98-2000 they're certainly miles better than capcom's approach of having lo-res srpites against hi res 3d backgrounds. though precisely why snk have chosen to do this with the stuff in development is pobably best known to themselves.
anyway, what i'm trying to say is that svc chaos is a pretty good game in my opinion and with a little more thought and attention any sequels could well turn out to be future classics and maybe, just maybe, beat match of the millennuum in terms of fantastitude.

wow, i havent been playing SVC lateley, im surprised to see that the game still get attention. . .
anyway, i used to use Zero and Shiki a lot, but then when the game became more popular (and more competitive), i started using Kasumi and ChunLi, Kasumi is at her best here, he moves are great, the counters are well timed, and her EXCEED whacks a LOT of damage. . . she a "better" alternative for geese imo, i beat experts using her. . as for Chunli, as always, POKE! but not like in SF3, she is more. . . combos ish here cuz of her "shoryuken" kick and its juggles. . . she has an infinite in SVC, but its pretty hard to pull of, so i rely on Poke-counter strats. . .

I didn't expect this thread to come back to life. Bemani: SvC is broken as hell. Not to say it's impossible to win with everyone but the tiers are so horribly imbalanced and overpowered it's sad. Zero and Geese are pratically gods. If you don't believe me check out any combo vids out there. The thing that kills this game is being able to cancel almost anything into anything
