i was talking to some people in another forumn, and one of the topics was the neoCd. Apparently alot of people think it's a "poor man's" neogeo. Personally i think it's a very good alternative to the AES, and i just don't see why everyone hates it so much! It's a great system, it does have load times, but it doesn't seem to bother me at all! Infact, someone even said that owning a neo cd was "one step farther from owning an emulator"!! Anyway post your thoughts here

i prefer the aes...the stuffs more collectable and as you say it hasn't got the load times.then again i wouldn't compare the cd system to an emulator....though i don't have a problem with emulation as certain people on another forum do. hullcityfcmad

ya, i mean the AEs is better in some cases(load times, no animation cuts) but i don't think its as bad as an emu.
Heh, those people at neo-geo.com don't know what there talking about...
this forumn is WAY better ;D ;D ;D

this forumn is WAY better ;D ;D ;D I agree with that. I don't visit neo-geo.com often(bought a few games there though) but I tend to see a good number of idiotic posts but at that same time it's probably due to the fact it's such a large forum. Too bad it's such a mess.

Neo-geo.com and many other forums out there are great and there actually are a ton of cool members there... certain areas like the creative section are still great as it only usually attracts the more helpful type of people etc. The only problem is that as raiken said, such a big forum attracts all types of people and it can be hard to get a decent thread going that doesn't somehow cause a flame war by the time it gets to about the 3rd or 4th page, which ruins things for everyone. Ours isn't the biggest forum, but I do kind of prefer a smaller and more "community driven" forum if you know what I mean. Plus most of us are all fairly laid back, so it's very rare for any of us to start arguing needlessly and all that Anyway, I like the Neo CD, but there are a lot of games I couldn't play on it due to the poor load times. Some games do run well however, and having CD quality music is a great thing on a lot of games! Overall if you are a real Neo nut it is worth owning one, or if you don't wanna blow a lot of cash on the cartridge versions, it can be a decent alternative. As for the comment about it being close to playing on an "emulator", that must be one of the most ignorant things I have ever heard... Kaz

imo AES = Arcade perfect (duh!), Collectible, but VERY EXPENSIVE NEOCD = Suffers from Loading Times & animation cuts, BUT WAY cheaper & has better audio still, i prefer the MVS re: neogeo.com -the forum imo os one of the best, but since its very popular and like kaz said its ruined by flames and bad members.... still, one of the best sources if you're into NeoGeo trading...

My fav. is neocd because the carts are 2 expensive, and load times don't bother me at all.
P.S I got an MVS 2 ;D ;D ;D Anyways i've played most of the neocd games, and have not Seen 1 animation cut, only smaller sprites.
So the animation cuts might have been:
A) a rumor created by AES fanboys B) so small, and unoticeable that they aren't even a negative of the system

LMAO and you call yourself a neoexpert Kuma, I never noticed the animation cuts either, but I never played anything beyond KOF97 either... so KOF99 or LB2, -graphically heavy games, may have noticeable cuts.
