I just got a student loan so I can finally afford even the latest Neo Geo AES games! I've been thinking very hard about what game(s) I would like to buy, but I can't seem to make up my mind... I have two choices : I can buy one of the latest Neo Geo titles or I can buy several older games. Either way I have a maximum limit of little over 300€. I'm sure about one thing though : I want to buy a great fighting game. If I'm going to buy a new / expensive Neo game I'm torn between three games : - SVC Chaos - SNK vs. CapcomI can buy a brand new English version of SVC Chaos at the Neostore for $319. I've seen lots of SVC videos and I have to say that it looks great. SVC has a total of 36 playable characters and I have a debug bios installed in my AES so I can pick any character from the selection screen. I'd love to play with Ryu or Akuma against my favourite SNK chars! - Samurai Shodown V SpecialI can preorder a brand new English version of SSVS at the Neostore for $359, which is pretty much the maximum price I can afford right now. I haven't really seen any videos of SSVS yet so I can't say how good it looks... It has the ultimate SS character roster with 28 playable characters though! - Garou : Mark of the WolvesI tried MotW on MAME32 for the first time about six months ago and it really dropped my jaw! It's graphics are simply amazing. On the other hand MotW doesn't have as many playable characters as SVC and SSVS. I have to buy a second-hand Japanese version of MotW though... The english versions are rare and way too expensive for me. I would very much like to hear your opinions...

hmm, I personally wouldn't use a student loan to finance a game, but if you really want to, I'd go for SSV or Garou. I was really looking forward to SVC before it came out, but to me it was sort of a disapointment. No run, and the most killer AI ever. (Meaning really cheap like waiting for you to do a move and then countering it a la genocide cutter {speaking of Guile specifically}) SSV (not special since I haven't played it) is pretty good. Though out of those 3 games, the one I keep coming back to and playing the most is Garou

go for SSV and Garou, though i might pick Garou personally. SvC was disappointing, had a lot of expectations from it actually why'd you blow the student fund i'd cut my hand just to be able to pay off my tuition fees!(though i'd donate a kidney and a lung to have Garou ;D )

I'll still have a good amount of money left even if I choose to buy a new / expensive Neo Geo AES game and I haven't made any decisions yet... Garou : MotW is the only game of the three that I've actually played myself and I did enjoy it's gameplay. I tried to get SVC to work on an emulator earlier this spring, but I was unsuccessful . I've heard so much mixed opinions about SVC that I should most definitely try it myself to see if I like it.

I am tempted to say MotW, but it might not be the most long lasting game due to the smaller character roster. So, in that case I think I'd say get Samurai Shodown 5 Special. I haven't played it yet, but from everything I have seen it looks like being a very "special" game indeed. I'd ask for a few opinions on the game from people who have played it first though...
SNK Vs Capcom wouldn't be a bad choice though, but try the game out on an emulator first if you haven't played it yet, as not everyone likes it. If you do get it, it should give you plenty to do as the character roster is quite big...

Why the hell would you waist a student loan on a game??? Anyways, I would get Garou, or SVCC! SSV is alright, i only played it in an arcade once..(Not many arcades here in Cuba... )

I personally did not like SVCC that much.
I'd go for Garou as it's my favourite out of them.
