Hi!
Been playing SS3 for a bit now - but just can't get used to the damned controls - keep hitting a+b for strong slash instead of C on its own! Gah!
it seems a very good game though! Lots of fun! Difficult to get used to - Ukyo was always my fighter- but its difficult for me to use him with the new special moves and stuff! this SS seems a bit slower for some reason. However I have to say some of the artwork is spectacular!
I'm still trying and learning. Galfords and Naks's backgrounds and m00sic are great! I have decided to buy a brand new 21" NTSC compatible TV specially for the Neo, so I can have more time to play etc.
I'm still unsure whether to choose the bust Ukyo or slash Ukyo! Both are good. The bust Ukyo's apple slicing move is awesome! Great Stuff!
Ukyo is my fighter - so I will be concentrating on using him to complete the game 1st time. I only play on MVS level - or in the case of SS3 - normal I think.
One thing I can't understand - I have tried to use the blood code I got from Neo Encyclopedia (options/Exit A+B+C+D) but it doesn't seem to work - anyone got any ideas?
BTW, I agree totally with Kaz, I prefer the control system for SS1/2 - there is no big deal with pressing A+B together when you have a joystic as superb as the one for the Neo. No prob at all.

Well, when your playing the game with a controller its a pain in the ass not to mention that its alot quicker imo and you have 100% chance of pulling of the strong slash. Sometimes when i play SS2 occasionally though i press A+B what i think is at the same time its possible to mess up by a split second which i suppose makes the game more challenging but i don't like it.

Hi
Sorry but I never had that prob - have you got the old style joytsick or the naff new ones? please do not tell me you have those stupid goddam "joypads!" - they are rubbish. Thats one of the reasons I dont want to buy any of the new consoles - damn joypads!! thats not arcade!! You gotta have a proper joystick! It is one of the beauties of neo geo! It annoys me just to see peeps playing with silly, stupid little joypads!! Fucks sake its SOOOO Nintendo and super fucking shitty mario brothers!!
I have an old style joystick - the best - and I never had a prob- works 100% every time. I don't even have to try! Its so easy! Even if you miss it by a fraction od a second - it still works. soz about the swearing Ive had a few beers.

Lol, I love joypads. Though I don't hold them 'correctly' Rather I hook my thumbs underneath the pad, and use my fingers excluding pinky to hit all the buttons etc. Though I look like an idiot holding the joypad this way, it doesn't matter 'cause I pwn all my friends in 2D fighters.
The fingers have faster reaction time than the thumbs.

LOL, imo, nothing gets better than the Saturn JP pad but teh stick still ownz ;D One thing i hate about SS3... CHARGING (A+B+C), its really.. annoying, even though i dont use it, but the real uniqueness (that it only fill when you get hit) of the RAGE meter is ruined, and my sister abuses the charge thingy, damn rimururu users, projectile freaks

I think SS3 has bye far the best artwork in the series , I love that dark menacing look that it has. Personally I feel the origional is bye far the best in the series ,2 is an exclent game, but play it after playing #1 and it feels really slow. I also prefer the 2 button hacking in the original over the rest of the series, I cant play 3 worth a damn since I spend too much time on 1 and the controlls are now embeded in my brain so its almost like relearning the game again when it comes to 3.

Agreed. I've played far too much SS2 and the 2 slash button setup is embedded in my brain so much that it is hard to play SS3/4/5... I have to spend about half an hour on it before my brain adjusts (bit slow me ). I never really have a prob with not getting hard slash out either - I do have probs on the emulators, but if I play on the actual console with an old-school stick (not one of those nasty "kidney" shaped new ones) then I'm fine. Im exactly the same Kaz. I gotta adjust for 1/2 hour b4 my brain gets used to the new buttons. Although I'm used to it from SS 1 Instead of SS2.
I think SS3 is a good game. Its a shame about the buttons though. But i had decided I gotta get used to them so I can play SS4 and 5. I have started playing SS2 more now too. SS3 is a great game - the only mistake was leaving out some of the previous characters.
