Hi, guys. I haven't had a Neo-Geo console yet. Anyway, I'm gonna buy one because of the KOF. So, can someone tell me: 1, Is there any different between MVS and AES version KOF? Or they are totally the same(I mean are all the bugs and infinity hits the same)? 2, If I buy the Neo-Geo console below, can I play the appropriate AES directly? stores.ebay.com/Hit-Japan-Video-Games-and-Anime_W0QQdptZ6QQsclZallQQtZkmPlz help me! Thanks a lot!

Actually, AES carts are usually better than the MVS games because of extra chars, cheat codes (plus dipswitches if you have a modified console) but the infinites and bugs are normally not sorted out. As for the console you wanted to buy, I think that only a english game console will play carts in english....better double check that though, as I rarely have any idea what im talking about.

Yes, unfortunately that's true, but only if you'll get an AES system without the debug bios chip. If you have the chip installed you can choose between all the AES regions (Japan, USA & Europe). Most AES games have an option menu where you can select the language though...

But how about the TV? Do TVs support different region console system?

OMG! What if the Neo-Geo console is JP version? It plays only JP version AES, doesn't it? If so, that's enough for me. But how about the TV? Do TVs support different region console system? All AES games are 100% compatible with all different AES regions which means that a Japanese AES system can play Japanese AND English AES games. The language of the game is determined by the region of your AES system : If you have a Japanese AES system and an English game for it the game will still play in Japanese. The game's option menu should still allow you to play the game in English (if it has one, but I'm pretty sure that all AES KoF games have an option menu). I really can't give you any advice about the TV compatibility. Other members / moderators on this forum should be able to help you with that problem. You'll have to give more information about the TV you're planning to use first...

Basically: if it is Japanese or US, then it will be NTSC video signal, whereas a European Neo Geo will be PAL. If the TV system of your country is the same as the system you are buying you'll be fine, but (for instance) if you bought a Japanese console and lived in the UK, then you might have problems with the picture if you don't have a TV capable of supporting NTSC and use the correct cables.
Where are you from?
