I think the mslug vehicles all have Slugs in there name because of that Gun turret always on the side of a Mslug vehicle I dunno this could just b my opinion (and could be wrong) but whats yur opinion

I don't think anyones answer could be wrong per se.
I find it difficult to determine how SNK decides to name anything. I mean, I think they just pick the names because they sound cool to the Japanese ear (I read this is how they pick names like ,,pokari sweat" for their soda)
I mean, this is the company that brings us characters with names then when they aren't Japanese names, they are names like Geese, Rock, Maxima, Krizalid, Rugal etc. --cool names, but I don't see what they neccesarily have to do with anything related to the character. (sure you can strech it though)
-though personally I think they are called slugs, for the same reason some animes call giant anime robots "armors". That is, they name the game after a piece of machinery or weapon or something because it sounds neat, (C'mon, "metal slug" that sounds like the name of a badass rockband or something) and then name the robot/mecha/whatever after this instead of just calling it a "robot" or "submarine" etc.

They are slow like slugs and they look like them, especially the caterpillar part. They couldn't have called them Metal Caterpillars though because that doesn't sound half as smooth.

slugs...did any of you thought it might be referred to "rounds" or bullets? well duh that was my first guess but c'mon use your head and put stuff together the game is called Metal Slug the tank is called the enforcedMetal Slug think use ya brain!!! nuthin to do with shotgun slugs ok!
