Your top 10 KOFs!

Tsimnami9999 mentioned this excellent idea in the KOF2003 thread, but nobody really got involved, so I thought I would post my top ten KOFs to get the ball rolling:-

2. 00 (excluding strikers!)

I have decided that 03 would be one of my top 2 KOFs if the controls weren't so iffy. Annoying precision is required to get a super or special off instantaneously when you're getting off the floor, which usually results in you eating a combo of your own!

Why do I put 99 and 97 so low? With 98, 97 seems pretty pointless. I might be wrong in that remark, perhaps I should spare it a little more time? And 99, well, I dunno, there's something I dislike about it, can't put my finger on what. And Blue Mary's rush super doesn't combo in this version!!!

2000 gets the no.2 position, simply because I think it is excellent without the strikers getting in the way. With them, the game feels a little bit well, wonky ...

2001 I like, as it adds something unique to the other KOFs, and I also rather enjoy 96, as it added running, rolling and multiple level jumps, but still kept the manual charging, which makes life interesting.

96: it has the most of my favorite characters.
Kasumi (yeah kasumi) Mr Big, Krauser.
And you can even wail on Kyo with Geese
Oh yeah, and Goenitz

2000: Such a nicely done presentation. I like the music. I like the stages, and I liked the character rostor well enough.

2003: Duoron, Tizoc, Gato, Yamazaki wearing cool clothes 'nuff said

2002: again; I like the music. Its also got a good character rostor

97: I can play as Orochi! Wheeeeeeeee!

95: Eiji, the game plays kinda interestingly. Love Neogeo land. But this can't top playing as Orochi.

94: Its a classic. And despite it being classic, I'd have to say I like the modern just a bit more sometimes. Now is one of those times.

98: Everyone likes this one the best, but I dislike it. Except for bringing back Saisyu and Heidern, 2002 almost totally invalidates 98 to me. I dislike the controls in 98, and the game almost gives me a dirty/grainy feel or so. Also I despise the music and portrait art.

2001: I hate Lin, Bao, Foxy, Angel, Ignitz, Clone Zero. And a storyline that involves Nests/K' how dull. Also hate the portrait art.

99: See 2001. I missed playing this one when it first came out, so strikers didn't seem that novel. 99 didn't seem to have as many innovations as everything else. Also I didn't like the portrait art or the character rostor so much.

The thing about kof is that every game is different in its own way, despite the same characters, etc. each game somehow plays differently, i guess that's why we all love it

98- best character roster, the most complete moves, can't stop playing it
00- don't know why, but i have a special affinity for 00, the strikers don't bother me too much in this game
99- most detailed background, gameplay not bad either
03- the new characters are wicked
96- first kof game I played, hooked ever since, good music, good character roster
02- good roster, and of course the returning 3-3 and max mode

while reading this thread i realized something. snkp has already made 10 games in 9 years already. if snkp will make 2k4, they should make it the best for their 10th yr.
