I saw someone else mention this on a forum, thought I'd post it here. This is from Falcoons site, look at the girl on the left:  Is it me or does she look familar? Maybe SNKP saw her and thought "oooh lets base a character on her" and got the genders mixed up... or maybe falcoon had already seen that character and decided to draw a female version. You shouls check out his work, you´ll see a lot of simularity in fasion and design on many characters.
It´s just the hair that looks a lot like like the hairdo of Ash.

Not like Chizuru, I mean like Kyo or K´!
Maybe they wanted to change this, and in the last Moment they got afraid of the Change and made him male!! ;D

Possibly... actually if Ash had been female it would have been kinda cool. Unless.......... you know how Ash has some kind of dark secret in KOF 2003? Maybe that dark secret is that he/she is secretly transexual or something?  Kaz |

Kaz maybe his case would be similar to that of ranma in ranma1/2 whereas he turns into a chick whenever he gets splashed by cold water (and hot water to transform back to male) ;D or maybe ash is really a chick after all... (gave "himself" the silicones to be voluptous!) or SNK playmore couldn't make up their minds? |

WHO CARE'S! As long as the char plays well and stuff... i like his char design, but it would really be more Suitable for him to become a SHE, (based on that pic), anyways, FALCOON RULZ!!! one of my fave artists  |

i gotta say, the character design in-game is pretty accurate to the designs that Falcoon made.
That´s nice to see.
Just check out the sprite of Ash, even his hair matches the design style.
