Of course noone can live up to Falcon´s Art, but I really wouldnt say that artwork is bad. I really like it, i mean the 3d is worse!

Is KOF Neo Wave gona see other console releases or is it only for the Atomiswave Nothing is announced yet but I can see a PS2 version in my crystal ball, and probably an Xbox version too. SNK will most likely have less problems getting the idiots at Sony USA to let them publish this one, mainly because it has 3D backgrounds Kaz

am i the only one who actually likes all of the NeoWave's artwork? No your not. Every kof seems to get a hard time for the art work and most people like kof 98 best. Have another look at the in game art, then look at 97 too, iori could not be more deformed! At least from kof 99 on the artists have actually bothered to learn anatomy. I like the artwork in 2001 and 2002 best, I thought the style was so much better than the run of the mill anime stuff that seems so popular. Falcoon just manages to escape the anime trap and I did like his 2003 works.

I didn't actually like the artwork in 98 at all... the intro was fine, but the rest of it was done by someone else iirc and it was nasty imho. in '99 it was way better and more consistent, while 2000 was probably the best overall. Can't believe you actually like *anything* in 2001 though ... that was some of the worst interpretations of SNK characters I have ever seen personally, but 2002 was a massive improvement thankfully. 2003 is really nice though, I wonder if Falcoon will still be doing stuff for SNK when 2004 comes out? I think it was a brave move with 2001. I honestly dont see why people dont like it. Its so cool. way more style than any other kof. Some are a bit strange but im so fed up with all the cleche's with anime style art in games, Burly man fist in air yawn. 2001 went the other way, made the characters interesting again, breath of fresh air etc etc.

I'm all for doing stuff like that, and doing something a bit "different", that is fine with me... I'm just not fine with them making Mai look like an anorexic monkey. I did warm to that artists work though later on - for instance, his work that was used on the SVC website was very good for the most part, but 2001 was nasty imho... Kaz

I also didn't like the in game artwork in 98 or 2001 at all. I didn't especially like kof 99 and 2000 cause of the strykers but they both had probably my fav. in game art of the series. Of course i really liked Falcoon's work for 2003 a hell of alot also but there was something about the ingame art for 99/2000 that just seemed perfect.
Anyways, back on topic... I hate to seem pessimistic but i really don't think there's anything snkp could do to this game to make me interested short of adding every pre kof 2003 (only for consistancy reasons) character in one game like i thought they'd do and should have done in the first place.

The intro in '98 was superb, but the in game art left a lot to be desired... that was the *one* thing in KOF '98 that I was not too keen on at all.

I didn't know that the Atomiswave board was so similar to the Dreamcast. That would make it a lot easier to convert Atomiswave games to Dreamcast than e.g. Xbox or ps2. Maybe it's more than just a dream? I found out that there are actually people organising petitions about this. Petition to get Atomiswave games on Dreamcast.
