I actually prefer it to the simpsons these days. When I watch classic Simpsons episodes I get a great laugh out of them, whereas with the newer ones I can't remember the last time I actually REALLY laughed out loud. With Family Guy I do this every week though.
Overall though, Family Guy just about edges it for me cos it feels fresher if you know what I mean, although I still love the simpsons.

well, after regularly watching Family Guy for weeks, i've come to love it. heck i even got some of my friends to enjoy the show Stewie is freakin awsome, the jokes are very clever, i especially like those common mini flashbacks... and it has "morals" to boot, which is really good. Family Guy rules

Old news to some but people in the UK will soon again be able to enjoy family guy gracing their screens from this saturday, on that note the first season of American dad should also be airing on the same night.

Just found that out. The best thing about the UK airings, from what i can tell anyways, is that they will be showing the uneditied versions of family guy and american dad, given that they're on at 10pm. Yay! The bad side is that the family guy episodes that will be on are the ones from season 3, starting off with 'the thin white line'.
I could never stand it when sky showed family guy at 5pm with all the best bits cut out. I never liked family guy before watching it on dvd and it was like a completely different show.

When season 5 first started i wasn't totally interested but the last 4 episodes i've seen have been amazing.
That one where Peter made his own TV network was top notch.

"Turn you on? Well it shouldn't.... cos this is MY side boob!" That episode to do with the old paedophile guy was scary though. Episode was REALLY funny at times, but they really need to kill his character off cos he's just annoying now and also extremely freaky, not to mention unfunny imho. Kaz

I watched an episode just now...i watched a few when it first came out and didnt really take to it but this one tonight was pretty funny. The only funny one I think is the dad...the rest are not even funny i dont think.
This episode was about how the dad found out he had a black ancestor so he thought he was black. The first bit was the funniest how the dog said the dad was narrating his entire life lol. Then the bit at the end where theres a cheerleader tied up and one of the characters (young guy) says "dear diary...jackpot"
Might get into it now

Saying that, some people take a while to get into it, but once you get a feel for the characters it's hilarious... I'd suggest watching it from the start if you can. The bit with Peter narrating his life is classic! ;D Kaz

Wtf is happening to this show... the last couple episodes i saw where terrible to me. Agreed... some funny parts but in general they were awful. No new episodes for a few more weeks either, hopefully it'll get back to its best then... The American Dad episodes that were shown along with these latest episodes were a lot funnier actually, and usually it's the other way around. Kaz

Like many Family Guy references, it did seem pretty obscure, particularly since that animation must be about five years old by now (it must have been years since i last saw it and until FG i forgot about it). I've never been too sure why I've found PBJT to be funny in the first place.
It's probably the obsurity and randomness of this reference that made the FG clip so funny for me. Apparantly there was a legal situation regarding the copyright of this in Family Guy, since the PBJT creators weren't notified of FG's reference.
A lot of the humour on the show is pretty random, though living in the UK, I don't get a lot of the more obscure references of US TV shows that we don't get here. I guess that it's better for some reference jokes if a few people find it hilarious rather than a lot of people only finding it a little bit funny.
lmao! ;D I remember watching this clip a little while back. Chris' scared "i don't know" reaction afterwards is priceless!
