This is a quote from "The Living Dead" news post by Trieu at www.snk-capcom.com : It would be a huge disappointment for me if SSV Special wouldn't get an AES release... After all it's going to be the last SS game to be released on the Neo Geo and being a fan of the series I would most definetly want to buy it in the future. Does anyone know anything about this yet?

I know of somebody who emailed SNK USA and got a reply stating it was going to happen, so hopefully that is true. I agree that it should be the last AES release (even though KOF 2003 would have been a reasonable last release). The main reason I say that is that Samurai Shodown was the game that made people sit up and take notice of the Neo Geo and SNK, so it is fitting that a game in the series would be the Neo Geo's last...

yeah i reckon they'll release it on aes though.....as kaz says it a fitting way to end the neogeo era seeing it was the original shodown that started it all. hullcityfcmad

I can't really think of any reason why SSV Special wouldn't get an AES release... Samurai Shodown is one of the most popular game series on the Neo Geo in addition to KoF & Metal Slug and the recent AES releases like SVC Chaos must have sold well.
I wonder what the meg count of SSV Special will be considering that SSV was already 708 megs and the Special version will have more characters?

I was just wondering if 708 megs is the maximum amount of information that the AES cart can hold...

It'll be a long time before I can afford aes carts.

I'll admit kof 2k1 is my least favorite but it's not quite as cheesy with the strikers in that they require power now.

Actually half the time the meg counts don't mean anything at all as there is probably a lot of junk left on the carts that hasn't been used in game (and SNK don't always seem to be accurate when they label them, as we have found out ). Take a look at MS5 for instance, if all the code that isn't used in game was taken out, I bet the meg count would be 100 meg less . The same might apply for SS5, I wonder if anyone has actually taken the time to look through the cart? Even MotW had some unused stuff on the cart actually... I remember a friend of mine managed to rip a logo that was in there that said "Fatal Fury - Mark of the Wolves". For some reason they never used that and still named it Garou in the west, unlike the other FF games. Kaz

I hope there is an AES release...then I will probably sell my aes SSV to buy SSV Special.
