My favorite anime of 2004. I believe it came out in 95 but I never heard of it until now This is just a fantastic anime a perfect 10/10.

The story without spoilers:

Shu a normal teenager living on earth. One day he is sitting on a water tower when he sees a girl named Lala-Ru. All of a sudden a portal opens and a women leading 3 soldiers is after Lala-Ru, Shu does his best to save her and he is caught in the transport portal and is brought into this war ridden world of destruction.

Why does this world need Lala-Ru and will Shu ever find his way back.

This story deals with raw emotions and you realy feel the characters pain. It deals with tough subjects encompassing rape and torture but never degrades itself with gore or nudity.

This is a very touching story and I will guarantee by the end you will truly care for all the characters you meet. Please go out and buy this 1 of a kind adventure

I heard a lot of good things about this one, and it receives high ratings on most anime review sites. One more reason to pick it up.

first of...i've seen this around '99/2000, it was shown in AXN channel...

I DONT LIKE IT, dunno, i just didnt get the whole thing, i hated the main character, the music is boring, and the misc chars are too, convuoluted... i did like the presentation thou, still, i didnt like it..

at that time, our Art teacher was really into it, she raved that we should all watch that,

usually i loved mini-series like these, but, i just didnt liek this one...

I know, you must have been captured by an evil overlord and brought to another dimension since they thought you were someone else. Then during your captivity you were raped and had to decide whether to keep the baby. If this is the case then I can see why this series would bring back those painful memories and thus why you don't like it.

I agree with Buddha-kun. Your being a little immature about this materia. Having a sig that flames a staff member isn't going to get you anywhere either. Lots of people hate various animes I watch but it never bothered me.

Other then that I haven't seen this anime myself so I have no opinion of it.

I really can't believe this. It truly blows my mind that my 2nd post in this thread was taken seriously. I dont see how with all the stupid smilies and joking tones that anyone would take it seriously.I even went as far as saying if I offended Buddha then I was sorry then he comes back with his post.

I don't think my first comment was a dig at Buddha's expense it was just a funny comment saying how could anyone not like this show. If you look at his posts obviously he thought i was serious. This whole thing is stupid. I never cared and it wasn't immature since it was a joke and I made it clear it was a joke.

PS: It wasn't intended to be this amzingly clever joke, it was just a funny little comment. Obviously 1/2 of the active forum communtity dosn't see this. Again I am sorry I was so immature, but if you compare this to other threads in this very forum I dont think this was anything close to immature by your standards
