Seeing a lot of people now have tried out SNK vs Capcom, it's time to open up a thread on the game. So let's start discussing and sharing opinions, tips, ideas to try, things you like about the game, not like about the game, questions you have on how to do some moves or how to get to a character and basicly anything you want to tell about the game. Please, no emulation questions nor questions on where to get a rom for it. Save the emu questions for the emulation section as there is a lot of inof in there that will help out in many ocassions.......Remember, NO ROM BEGGING POSTS. Seiryu

I'm glad you made this thread Sieryu, i was thinking of doing the same myself. I been playing this game all day & i do feel like hearing others opinins & sharing some myself.
Other than the rolling issue to help a bit agianst spamming i really like the gameplay. i heard alot of stuff about the capcom shoto's not being so good but i think they're great. I'ts just unfortunate imo that they put in characters that are generic and a little boring like balrog & vega & sagat & bison. I think there should me more variety than most of the original sf 2 cast and having 2 versions of ken & iori. (not that i don't like them, they just could have added somebody with a different fighting style instead) nextime i hope they put atleast 1 rival schools character & one of my fav. capcom characters ever- Fei Long
I think the character sprites & animations are great. All the capcom characters never looked better imo (thats not including sf3 seeing how i've never played it) they have great looking moves & im happy to see them on neo hardware. Though the backrounds im still dissapointed in, there a couple notches below past classics like kof98-99 & garou. I really hope they get something going soon in that area cause the character sprites look so much nicer id really like to see more colorful & detailed backrounds to go with them.

What I found very strange was that when SNK characters were pitted against each other, it still felt like a new game. I dunno, maybe it just me. The graphics ran very smoothly thougth. One thing I was very pleased about was the fact that all the players never seemed out of place, even characters like Hugo. The controls I felt were difficult to get use to. Even on SNK Characters, they were a bit stiff.

I BEAT ATHENA! My god that was hard. It's bad enough Athena won't be playable on a console unless maybe the ports but they ruined her character with cheapass moves. If anybody actually reaches her remember that she is invincible during all her specials/supers but is open for a brief moment after they end.

Ive been playing a bit with people on Kaillera, and I've seen that the character people choose most, and are the best with are Terry.
It seems to me that Terry's moves are faster and more powerful, but maybe thats just me.
I really enjoy the SNK versions of the capcom characters, (exception being Tessa) And I really enjoy the new SNK characters -love Shiki but I don't play very well with her, any strategies anyone?
After being so used to the KOF series, I have found it a bit hard to get used to the slight changes in SVC. Iori, my best character ever in KOF whom I can almost always beat people with, has now turned into my worst character in SVC (at least against Mr overpowered Terry)
All my KOF strategies of rushing the opponent by jumping at them, or dodging their moves with a roll, or even pressuring them with a low jump are now un-usable as SVC has none of these. (Even the low jump, which I figured was a standard in SNK games)
The animation is definetly top notch, though I am not a fan of the two button press in order to do a throw. -worked fine in Last Blade 2, but in SVC it seems I have to get way too close to the character to make it worthwhile.

the boss ver of Mr.karate is badass... 4 rapid shin-haokens in less than 5 secs! and it seems that shin akuma is weak but Earthquake rocks!!! he soo pwerfull, and ive managed to trick a lot of fireball-a-holic players using his qcfX2+K DM and his teleport is really usefull... he's surprisingly a good charater... unlike in SS, he's quite faster and more effective... some of the chars are so-so (eg. geese, geonitz), nothing changed... but i hate Tabasa... she's... kinda sucky.. PS - Athena is Cheap! (WTF? all her moves a DM's!)... Red Arrmerer is way better opponent, more, challenging

I agree about earthquake, he is a bad ass, really effective & can be quite a pain sometimes when the fart spaming AI uses him. I've always Dispised Goenitz's moves though, so cheap as hell. Geese could be better along with Tessa. (i don't like hitting people with cats and stupid ice shards, basically im not into magic bs) I know characters like guile/vega/balrog/ are classics but who honestly plays as them, give these poor guys a few quicker/better moves. Playmore could have done a whole lot better than almost the whole sf2 cast.
Also is it just me or is Shiki incredibly weak, i like her moves but i just can't own anybody with her it takes forever. Dan's pretty cool, i know he's supposed to be a joke character and all but im dissapointed how puney his fireball is, he only has 2 other basic moves for goodness sakes they should have hooked him up better than that

Indeed, Goenitz is a cheap mofo. I do like is hyper move where he does a combo and pulls this cool looking double windblow on you to finish it off. I love Genjuro in the game, His port over from SS is awesome. They made him adapt to the regular gameplay style (SS has always had an playstyle of it´s own with the slash buttons and combo system/timing) and it fits him perfect. His voice is the coolest one in the game IMHO.Crazy fierce yet insane... Athena is a major disappointment for me......totaly not what i expected. Her moves look kinda nice but boring as hell...she really is a eyecandy bonus character, but i hate the pallet used on her...too soft and a little blurry looking. Red Arremer on the other hand is awesome. Seiryu

the boss ver of Mr.karate is badass... 4 rapid shin-haokens in less than 5 secs! and it seems that shin akuma is weak Yeah i also noticed that. Shin Akuma bites big wind in this game, such a shame really.......he should have been far more pumped up. Speaking of EVIL CHARACTERS....Violant Ken is a bit simple. I mean, he doesn´t really change that much from regular ken, besides that teleport dash and different looking hypers.

Yeah, I was surprised at how bad Athena looks... she looks really pale, it would have been ok if they had made her skin a bit darker. I only played against her once so far, I completely annihilated her, wsn't hard at all. In fact she just stood there and didn't hit me much at all... maybe the CPU went crazy for a sec? It did take me a long time to beat Orochi Iori and Shin Mr. Karate though... they were HARD as hell. Need to play it a bit more as I haven't had as much time on it as I would like... gotta try some other characters as I've only really used Shiki/Terry/Ken/Ryu so far. Kaz

Yeah the game owns...been playing it till early hours in the morning hehe.
The game plays well (apart from the infinites - Tessa, Geese, Zero, Evil Ken). I think every character is pretty good but the best ones so far that ive played are
Chun Li - Plays like 3rd strike woohoo!! Akuma - His raging demon is hard to do Ryu - Shin Shoryuken owns Kyo - Way powerful
Theres only 2 characters i despise...Zero (because his infinite is SO easy to do and Goenitz because hes so cheap

Best made sprites are from Dhalsim, no doubt about that. But i overall like the way they made Demitri. He really looks uberpowerfull and convident. A totall overall change on the way he looked in Darkstalkers, he really looks gothic now with his pale skin and dark pale color pallets. The sprites on SvC look very sharp and clean....expept for Athena, her sprites blow big time.

Chun Li - Plays like 3rd strike woohoo!! Indeed, Chun li has been changed greatly. And in a good way.I love the way her play style is now. And the chunky legs....well, they´re not that chunky. She´s got a big ass now, though........which isn´t a bad thing IMHO.... And Zero. Man, was he a big disapointment.I really thought he would be a strider kind of player to play with. (Slashes, fast moves a la ninja style....*GUITAR WAIL!!!!!!!*) I was so looking forward to playing with him but he turned out to be a bit of a turn off.
