Don't worry there's no spoilers here. ;D I was just wondering if you guys ever watch an anime and then just get totally turned off by the ending. Typically Gainix animes give me a headache. Evangelion was good(the original ending, not the movies) although I can see how most people would find it stupid, FLCL actually was very good which is ironic because it's not supposed to make sense half the time ;D But now as I'm about to finish Mahoromatic this week I'm paranoid because the ending is rumored to be really unexpected I get the feeling I won't hate it anymore then some of the other endings I've seen but I really wish they hadn't given the anime such a happy theme for the first 24 of the 26 episodes

The only one I truly hated ending wise was The Guyver... but I think that was because Manga Entertainment only released 12 episodes of it and then suddenly stopped... I heard it was because they lost the rights to it or something. Looking back it probably wasn't the best anime in the world anyway, but back when I was in my early teens me and my friends all thought it was the best thing ever, up until the end. Definitely better than the live action movies that were made Small piece of useless movie trivia - the guy who played the lead role in the Guyver live action movies is the same one that also voiced Solid Snake in the MGS games, and wrote the screenplay for X-Men and X-2. No idea why I decided to throw this in, I just think its interesting Kaz

I have game called Hagane for the snes where you play as a guy who looks very similar to the Guyver and is really cool. I hated Big-O for awhile because it ended on a cliffhanger but miraculously they managed to make season 2. It took two years though Back to the ending of evangelion the big problem there was Hideaki Anno wanted it to have a psychological ending and not just be another mecha anime. In japan though people really wanted it that way so then he made those movies as alternate endings which suck even more IMO. It was basically his way of giving those people the finger.

If I am not mistaken, it also happened to Yamato back then. It turned into an almost "open ending" thing.... But in Brazil they can be very cruel with us by simply stop buying the rights for the series (animes or soaps) in the middel. Or they show like combining two or three episodes together.

Was really getting into and enjoying Tenjo Tenge...the ending kinda spoiled it for me... Its really sucked.
Personally I find a lot of recent anime has a crap ending, either not really ending anything or being too god damn sugar coated....
Lain has a good ending, so does Haibane Renmei, My-Hime has a pretty crap one as does Guyver....
I really hope Paranoia Agent has a decent one because I'm really getting into it now...

I completely forgot I made this topic ;D I never even posted the results of Mahoromatic. Ok. Basically at the very end of the series (like the last minute), the anime saves itself and actually ends on a happy note. That's really stupid though. It gave me the impression that when they were writing the script somebody realized it was bullshit and they had to save it at the last minute ;D

The ending to Shingetsutan Tsukihime. Man, I was pissed for a few days after seeing the ending.

The ending to Shingetsutan Tsukihime. Man, I was pissed for a few days after seeing the ending. It's sad how underdeveloped that anime is. Hopefully though the next type-moon based anime, Fate-Stay Night, will be better. I still liked tsukihime a lot and owning a copy of the game myself I know what they were getting at with the ending for the anime. The problem is they kind of combined two of arcueid's endings and made it kind of obscure.

When I saw the ending of GANTZ, I definitely wanted to kill someone. Thank God the manga was there for me. Shingetsutan Tsukihime had a touchy, but pretty bad ending. Don't know if I wanna wait for the Fate/Stay Night anime Just look at Tsukihime's anime version. Oh and Great Teacher Onizuka's last scene didn't make me laugh one bit. It was just "ZOMG IS THIS THE END?" @ Raiken : Did you like the Eva series ending?!?! Where they were all like "Omedeto!!!" ?!!? I had my mouth open for like 10 minutes when I saw that.

The worst ending EVER for an anime was "Heroic Legend of Arislan"...........WTF. I'm not going to spoil it or anything, but they just stop. It's like like they ran out of a budget.
