i agree everything's nice and all, after the horrors of 2001 (MVS), im glad to see that SNKP improved music/gfx/gameplay wise Dammit i love kof2k1!  Gameplay was great compared to 2k2 which was a hot mess imo. |

Meh, KOF 02 played great too.
It had the best version of Vanessa in all the versions.

2001 doesn't play too bad, it's just that it looks fugly with aweful backgrounds, horrible presentation and horrendous music that's insulting to the ears. Gameplay is the main consideration, but although 2001 is good it just doesn't feel like a proper KOF game to me. 2002 is cool though... far from perfect and my opinion of it has decreased a little since I did the review, but it is still a better game than 2001 imho. 2003 blows them both away though  Kaz |

Gameplay in 2k1 was okay, the rest is a pest! (uh uh, me is teh rapper)
2k2 was really great IMO, a lot better than 2k1, the Story in 2k1 was also bad, no big Showdown, or something.

Unfortunately the only update to www.snkplaymore.jp was the kof2k3 site (I was hoping for the new SS0S art, i suppose i can only dream) Anyways i'm not quite sure what the update was, its been so long since i checked the character art there i've never seen the Adel & Mukai artwork till today. after long-term playing, every new kof that comes out after 98 i end up playing 98. to me, kof 98 is on top while kof2k3 is close. my opinion would differ if the middle-aged team, the orochi team, and the boss team would be in kof2k3 but that would make it another dream match. wouldn't it...?
