New KOF 2003 Discussion Thread

Now that mostly everybody's got the chance to play the crap out of this game, i was curious how it fits in everyone's rankings of fav. kof's.

I still put kof98 on top but this kof is atleast in my top 3 and i've been very pleased with it.

I must say I like it overall! It´s great, Story is great, In Game Art is great, Chars are great, well......No.2 in mine!!

I wouldn't make this one one of my favorites but it has many things I like that the other kof's don't.

i'd say it's up to par with kof '98 for me. couldn't decide whether kof 98 or kof 2k3 is no.1 for me.

let's just say it's a must-play ;D

I like it a lot.....it´s up there with kof 98.
The only thing that sets them apart for me is the different lineup in both games.
I love Terry in this version. Same goes for Shen and other additions like tizoc.
But KOF 98 has Yashiro,Takuma and Rugal in it which are awesome versions in my book.
Other then that, i think they´re both the top of the collection.

Yeah I would count this as one of my fave KOF's, but 98 still has it... but only just. On the plus side, I can get more of my friends to play 2003 than any other as they like the tag system

Liverpool sig was needed though, don't think I have ever had one before. That's a pic from yesterdays game against Levski Sofia, I saw it was kinda cool so I used it

I really liked this edition/addition of the KOF series at first, but now certain things are beginning to nag at me, mainly due to the tighter buffering in play. For example, you have to be a lot more precise when doing command moves when getting up as a wake-up move, which can be infuriating! But enough of my whining, it still is a good KOF game, although I don't think it is one of the top best simply for the above gripe...

Terry aged into his Garou looks, damn shame they didn´t addept Joe Higashi,Mai and Blue mary also.

it is one of my fave KOF's (next to 98)

i agree everything's nice and all, after the horrors of 2001 (MVS), im glad to see that SNKP improved music/gfx/gameplay wise
, but since this IS the LAST kof for neogeo, i agree it is a must get

tha chars look great, and play well to 0(e.g. tizoc, benimaru, yamazaki. DuoLon), the sprites are ok, and portraits look fine.

BUT, it was a BIG change from the KOF's we know, the tag system is ok, but it removed what made kof a "balanced" game (not like the capcom's VS. series)

OVERALL, it is a GREAT GAME, in vs mode...

Yes, with the Tag Modus, they took the Time away to prepare for playing with the next Character!

It's more fast paced this year and combos are harder to do.

But I really like the Way Robert plays, he´s one of my fav. Chars in 2k3. Hopefully they don´t change his gameplay again, like from 99 to 2k1, that was really crappy and unnecessary.
