I know what you mean, it would blow much wind if SNK does not contribute.
I dont want any of the games to go Guilty Gear on us,
what would be the point of playing an SNK game then, just because a character is Terry does not mean he will have the same flair. Hopefully this move will not screw over our fave games.

As I said before, I do enjoy Guilty Gear, but I'd never want to see KoF or any other Neo game go down that route, so I can understand why people might be worried... hell, I'm a bit anxious myself. What annoys me though is that so many people instantly assume that by default, hi-res gfx = shit gameplay. Anyway, as far as I know some ex-SNK employees (and ex Capcom in fact) work for Sammy, so there is still a high chance that any KoF games that come out will be great. I don't know why certain people on other forums are bitching anyway - they've bitched about KoF being crap for the past few years anyway, so even if a Sammy-made KoF sucks, it isn't as if they will have lost anything. I kinda get the feeling that even if it turns out to be the best KoF ever, they'd still say it was crap just because it isn't SNK made...  Kaz |

One one Hand it´s cool definetly, but I really am afraid, if it gets, like Kaz said, "soul-less"!
That really makes me worry, I hope it will really stay like it is now, but just with tuned up Graphics!! They really shouldn´t lose teh SNK Charm!

I will not, in anyway, discriminate against Sammy. If it turns out that they make the best KOF ever....Great, neither do i really think it will be worse because of hi-res grafix. I think it is going to turn out pretty bad-ass, I am not too afraid.

That would be approx 75% of the members at neo-geo.com. Honestly, how often do threads there degenerate into a "who can be the most partisan" competition, or flame wars because some heathen dared suggest that a port may be in some way superior. And don't get me started on how - at one point at least - every thread in CvS2 forum featured a minimum of two posts about how terrible the game was and how the unbalenced gameplay ruined it and hoew anyone who played it was a fool. These idiots overlooked the fact that, despite it's flaws, it was still more balenced than a good 50% of all the fighters to appear on the Neo Geo, and that only a couple of them could hold a candle to it. They hated it because Capcom had made it, pure and simple. This was born out when some of the very same people made repeated posts praising SvC: Chaos. I will never understand why so many seem to think that ones love of SNK is directly proportional to ones hatred of Capcom fighters, and the louder you are in this endevour the better.
That's why I love this board so much: other members trawl through that shite-hole, post any interesting and/relevent news here, and I remain informed without having to read through all the drivel the fucktards deposit there.[/rant]
Sorry, but I'm just about the games. I really hate all this "my game company of choice has got a bigger penis than yours" bullshit. I appreciate that I've been the main instigator of the "FUCK FINAL FANTASY" nonsense elsewhere here, but amongst we long time posters on this - for want of a better word - intimate board, it's a given that it's all in fun. Over there it's not: the muppets mean it.[/rant really over now]

I do think that a lot of the members at neo-geo.com are cool, but there are a few that throw common sense out of the window when posting, and that hate anything that is non SNK or non Neo Geo. That's their problem though, they are the ones cheating themselves out of some good gameplay experiences. I'm all about the games, but I must admit though that I'm more of an SNK fan than a Capcom fan, and I do honestly get more fun out of some of the older SNK games than I do CVS2 (but for the record I do love CVS2, see my review  , but that is purely a matter of *opinion* and nothing else. Just because I think that doesn't mean that the next person has to agree... too bad that a number of people seem to think that you must be retarded if you don't. Anyway, to sum it all up, this is the way I see it: Forums like this are made so that people can discuss things (and have a bit of fun of course ), not to blindly bitch and call someone a fag when you don't see eye to eye. Shit, can you imagine how it would be if all we ever did was post saying "this game rocks, neo geo is king" and then get 500 replies of people saying "yeah it does". Wow...so many things have happened. As I haven't played Guilty Gear that much, I can't really comment how the new game will turn out. It will probably have better graphics, and this is what most people hope for. I just hope that the gameplay have some sort of SNK feel to it, it doesn't have to resemble 100%. And please...more interesting new characters. I hate the design of Heroes Team for KoF 2003.

I like the heroes team a lot too.... Ash is very fruity, although he doesn't look anywhere near as bad in game... plus he's a damn cool character to use. Shen is a it plain but I still like him, and Duolon looks absolutely great (love the animation), even if he seems very overpowered Kaz |

There is one thing I dont really want from Sammy.
When kof 2004 is released, I really do not want to see some freakish non-human character. Im not afraid if the speed is hyped up, maybe even a little (dare I say) button mashing, but just keep the roster human.
That is my biggest concern........
besides that BRING IT ON ;D
