"SNK Playmore today announced an early victory in its lawsuit against Aruze, the pachinko company from which it purchased the assets of the original SNK. A preliminary decision recently handed down by the Osaka District Court determined that Aruze unlawfully used SNK Playmore-owned trademarks subsequent to its sale of those trademarks, and will now move on to determining the damages it owes to SNK.
SNK Playmore's case consists of a series of complaints lodged over the course of 2002, arguing that Aruze was continuing to use SNK trademarks -- characters from its popular fighting and action games, among others -- in its pachinko machines, slot machines, and PlayStation pachinko games. Together, SNK's five complaints seek more than 5.6 billion yen (about $52 million) in damages.
Whether it will receive that much depends on the court's decision, which will follow later this year. The court found in SNK's favor in all five complaints, however, which bodes well for its fortunes in the case's conclusion."
More money for snkp, Yipee! Hopefully most of this cash goes twoards making new games/hardware & not some rich old guys ;D

Goddamn, this is good news.
SNKP is getting back what they lost over the years.....hope it goes that far by the end of the verdict.
This would be a major financial boast for SNK.

Yay! good news indeed  hopefully the money will be goin to makin the games improve (money for the proggrammers, creative dept., composers, art dept., etc.) not that i want to trash out the NeoGeo machine, but, they MUST change hardware (atomiswave!), (this means no more ROMS!   )and money for publicity (commercials, ads, etc.) |

Capcom seem to have all but given up on 2d fighters; if SNKP follow the same course I'll cry. |
