SNKP has updated their site and revealed a new title that´s a slotmachine from the metalslug series. Check it out. www.snkplaymore.jp/official/p_ms/index.htmlI am no gamblingfan but this looks like fun, it even has a screen in which you play metalslug by getting slots right for special events.

You guys have read the news about SNKP though right? They are going to be concentrating on Pachinko/slot machine stuff from now on, and games will be a secondary concern.... and no I'm not joking.
It's basically a business move... games alone won't make them enough money really. Trieu over at snk-capcom also said he'll have a big announcement to make in the next few days that concerns Sammy/SNK - I have been hearing for a long time that things are going to be happening between these two companies (and we all know about the Atomiswave KoF), so lets hope this is a good announcement! I wonder if Sammy might take over the development of KoF and other titles? They would be a good choice if you ask me...

Kaz that would be in their part good because slot machines/pachinko hasn't been emulated yet ;D about that Sammy thing... we might see Sammy VS SNK in the near future if that were to happen

If it means that SNKP can stay in business and it gives them the money to keep bringing us 2D games, then I'm happy. And if they merge/form a partnership with Sammy, then it will mean higher quality games hopefully. Sammy Vs SNK doesn't sound like a bad idea in fact, althoough Sammy Vs Capcom will be first. How about Sammy Vs SNK Vs Capcom? It may also mean that they slowly begin to ditch the Neo Geo in favour of better arcade hardware and also home systems like the PS2, which will be very sad, but if it brings us better games (both in terms of gfx and gameplay) then I am all for it! I'm beginning to think 2004 will be a very good year for 2D fans ;D Kaz

Well, it was a matter of time. The neo has hold out so long from the beginning, it´s amazing. The main concern and good side out of this all is that SNKP will keep on existing, especially after this new financial step in the pachinko department.

Why so? My knowledge of this episode is limited. To cut a long story short, when they bought SNK they really messed them up bad. Aruze is a massive company in Japan when it comes to Pachinko slot machines etc and I think the main reason they actually wanted SNK was so that they could just use their IP's to make new slot machines based on SNK characters etc (probably anyway). They really did a lot of bad things to SNK - in fact, SNKP ended up suing them eventually for varying reasons. Although SNK was never really *that* well managed, Aruze are probably *one* of the causes of the original SNK closing... Also, it was pretty much down to Aruze that the NGPC died if I remember correctly. Even though the sales of it weren't too bad, Aruze decided they wanted to pull the plug on it because it wasn't doing the sort of numbers that they were used to or something. This left a lot of retailers over here very pissed off because they were actually doing fairly well on it, and obviously SNK/NGPC fans who had bought the machine only a few months earlier were left pretty pissed too. Overall, Aruze is a chapter in SNK's history that is probably best forgotten Kaz

They had A Samurai Showdown Slot machine in Atlantic City...I couldn't use it because I was drunk and underage at the time but it was there. I believe it was an Aruze model.

I love snk and all but i don't like this. I'd rather see snkp work on new 2d games instead of stuff like this. If snkp hands over game development to sammy then so be it, nothin bad about that imo but as i have almost enough cash to buy an mvs now it kinda disapointing. I suppose as long as the new snk games that sammy makes (that is if they do sell rights to sammy) are ported to xbox/ps2 then i wouldn't be too mad.
