Wow... but you'd have to be pretty stupid to attempt something like that, no sleep/fod/drink for that long is boind to cause problems, and I'm betting that the guy might have had some other condition that made it worse. Anyway... what's this about being paid huge amounts in S. Korea to play games?? I think I'm gonna move over there and become a professional gamer - if I can earn $100,000 a year like they say... Kaz

I stayed up for 2 and a half days straight playing games at a lan a few months ago. (The longest i've ever been up consecutively) I seriously haven't felt quite the same since. (right before i finally went to sleep i had the most insane tunnel vision experience) I had chest pains for like 3 days afterwards. I ate and drank properly of course.

Actually, thinking about it, the day I got Resi 4 on the gamecube. Me and a mate put the game in to play at around 5 o'clock in the afternoon. By 10 the next morning we just about gave up playing it. After the large amounts of Beer, Coffie and Reefer we didnt look too hot!! ;D

south korea does have professional gamers, but you got to have talent and you'll have to play a few certain games all day. they hire teams of gamers and live them in a dorm-like place with individual rooms for each professional gamer. the LAN setup is in the middle, of course kinda like a sports team, really... they compete in tourneys there and stuff i saw a documentary about it months back and all they do is play, play, eat, sleep, play, play, play!!!

I think Starcraft is really big there. I saw this shot of one of the top players surronded like fans. They're like movie stars there.

BTW, I wonder if all these professional Starcraft players are wondering if there's any more games out there. I didn't think it was that good! It must be great to be paid to play games but wouldn't it just seem like work after a while? Maybe they relax by doing cleaning, filing or meaningless paperwork.

BWAHAHAHAHA!!! South Korea DOES treat its pro gamers like stars. If you know where to look, you can find videos of televised matches (like Warcraft 3). It's also good for a laugh now and then.
