/me Sees that The Rock is in it and runs away!!! Hehe, actually the movie looks like it will be fun... the average popcorn munching flick, not that I dislike like that. However what rating is it going to be? My guess it will be a Resident Evil style "let's tone down the violence so we can get the kids into the cinema too and make more money". That's my main problem with these types of films...  If it was done properly, then a Doom movie could have the potential to be VERY tense and scary, but they are only interested in making a ton of cash so that was never going to happen unfortunately. When I read this report, and the mention of the gore being in the movie, as well as the intensity of the game, my heart was filled with joy. But yes, that being a press conference, and there being this age rating thing... |

Probably going to be a flunk (has any movie with the rock been good ) like most video game themed movies.

big fan of doom played then all completed them all like most ppl the thought of the movie wicked thought of rock playing like main guy ok.only thing is hope they do well with the monsters and like the where its flimed and the jump fackor cos i rember seeing a house of the dead trailer but i dont no what happend to it. i seen trailer in cinema ??any one..

House of the Dead movie was terrible as far as I know.... go ask Mitch about that one, he ranted and raved about how bad it was the last time I spoke to him. I haven't seen it though so I can't comment  Kaz |

yeh didnet think they do a good god of it thats the problem they can make like good games but allways mess up the films and works the other way to good films crap games. i also think they should make more Animes of games street fighers are quite good i own to moveis and get the Series soon

House of the Dead movie was terrible as far as I know.... Oh yes, definitely. ;D There was one good scene with excessive ammo consumption and some Matrix wannabe movesets about half way through the movie, and that was about it. I knew it was going to be bad though, and that knowledge helped me survive.  |

I will see this movie , not because i think it will be high quality. It looks like a no-brain popcorn flick, but one that would be fun in the theater. And i think i owe it to the games wich i have enjoyed very much in my past. (haven't played doom 3 yet).

just saw the trailer for Doom. I was nicely suprised because it actually looks good. Nothing breathtaking but more of a brain-in-neutral guilty pleasure. Let's just hope that they'll keep the monsters in the shadows like the trailer suggests (like Aliens) and not show us them in their tacky rubber-suited / overused cg state (Resident Evil / Apocalypse, I'm talking to you!).
Looks pretty faithfull to Doom 3 and that flashframe of a hellknight (i think), does look pretty bitchin. No matter what though, as game adaptations go it's going to be much better than Super Mario Brothers! (like every other game adapt really)

By what I've seen and read this could be pretty bloody good by the looks of things  and yes the house of the dead film was bloody terrible the director should really stop making movies (look at alone in the dark fucking bloody bastard awful) even with the DJ at the beach party being Biff Naked (a very cool Canadian singer and the voice of Zoe in ssx tricky) couldn't save it but if you want a laugh get stoned and watch it you'll just piss yourself all the way through it ;D |
