Been away over the weekend due to once again having a complete and utter PC breakdown. I have now replaced the one final remaining part that could possibly be causing this (HD) and also bought some RAM which is certified to work with my board, so hopefully the problems are fixed now (I won't hold my breath though... but fingers crossed ). This is really becoming a major headache and over the weekend it pissed me off that much I almost felt like quitting, cos every time I start work on the site it seems something funky happens with the PC. That's not gonna happen though, it was just crazy talk cos this thing has been winding me up so fucking badly . I'll be making a few posts and maybe updating the site a little later on, once I have everything setup properly! Kaz

ok seems the problem was almost definitely HD related (at least partially). I took the HD that we removed from the PC earlier and put it into my PS2, tried installing a game and it took about 15 minutes to reach 9% completion (and this was a very small game). I put my normal PS2 HD back in and the same game took a matter of seconds to reach 9% complete, and only a few minutes to install the whole thing. Also after having this HD in the PS2, I suddenly realised how noisy the damn thing is, I hadn't noticed it before because it was mixed in with the sound of the PC's cooling fans. I think it is safe to say it's fucked, and I'm gonna return it to Maxtor if I can. We didn't check the HD before because this is actually a new HD as it is, which we installed only a few months back. Doesn't help when your replacement parts turn out to be faulty also Kaz

Aye faulty hardisks can be bastards as they don't always show obvious problems and generally break other things along with itself. Good luck

Thanks guys... things appear to be 100% so far still, so I'm very hopeful now that it is all fixed up ;D

see everythings looking up !2-1 4-2 lol seriously my brother in law was put off by his pc faults and that was a hdd as well ! Yeah man, good result for both our teams this week, although you should have won 4-1 if it weren't for Ballack being a diving gobshite! Oh well, doesn't matter in the grand scheme of things, provided we both finish the job off next week... then a dream semi final beckons ;D. If we do get an all English semi final then at least it will mean that no matter what happens, we'll have an English team in the final (and a good one, not scum or arse!), which is always nice. Hopefully that team comes from Merseyside, but either way it is still a good thing But yeah, back on topic, PC still seems fine... it is always a bitch when this stuff happens, and this really has dragged out for too long now... I'm just glad it seems to be working. Kaz
