I used to always look forward to the Simpsons on Sunday nights, but this season has just been letting me down. Seems that the episodes just aren't as funny anymore. Maybe the writers are losing steam, or I recall hearing the whole production team having money problems, who knows, maybe there's a reason. But I definatly feel like the show is no where as good as it used to be last season or the season before that, and so on. Anyone else think so?

We are a bit behind in the UK, and with the amount of episodes played ever day/week here by different channels (probably 30+ a week!), I get kinda lost with what's new and what isn't.
Occasionally it has seemed to be running out of steam a bit to me, I guess it happens to all series at one time or another... hopefully it will pull back out of it though. Although I love the Simpsons though, I'm still sad that they cancelled Futurama as that was a lot newer/fresher. Still, at least Family Guy is on its way back very soon ;D

For me the show just got way too redundant after about the first year so I rarely watch it. I think Futurama is a much better show mainly beacuse of the shows setting and overall wacky/dark content.
I would be shocked if most Simpson fans didnt think it had lost a large portion of its creative magic after eight seasons, there can only be so many fresh show ideas until people get bored with it like I did.
To this day I can barely tollerate the annoying Bart voice, even so I will probably pick the first season up on DVD for some point in the future after I get tired of ALF ... lol ;D

i think you can easily tell that Matt Groening likes futurama more than the simpsons because Futurama is much more wacky and fun where as the simpsons is just going down hill

I've always loved the Simpsons and though just like South Park it has its not so funny episodes but i still love it. This season is has somewhat gone down in quality but it's still a show i look forward to every sunday. Though lately my fav. sunday comedy is "Arrested Development" that comes on after the Simpsons.
What really disapointed me lately was "American Dad" Being created by the same people as Family Guy it kinda scared me. Hopefully Family Guy will return as funny as it used to be.
