I hook up my ROTD mvs cart to my aes system with the phantom 1(christ that was a mouthful), and about 10 seconds into the game I get some weird error that freezes the game. I have no idea how to tweak the stuff it gives me so I'm kinda in trouble. Is this the problem you had awhile back Kaz?

X4 DoH!
But seriously, I recall Kaz having a reset problem, which was apparently common with ROTD and 1 slot MVS'. I also think it reseted after you were more than 10 seconds into the game. I'll let Kaz answer for himself though.
Maybe your problem is the evolved version that happens on 1 slot AES/phantom 1s.
Check the contacts?

I tried that but it didn't matter how well it was connected.

Hmmm, that sounds exactly like the problem I had with RotD on my old one-slot, but it was fine on the 4-slot. Basically, no-one ever really found a 100% solution, the only one I did hear of was to solder a couple of the jumpers that are on the RotD board, and a few people said that this solved their problem. There was also another guy that managed to send his cart back to SNK USA and they fixed it for him, so that might be an option. Either try asking people on the neo-geo.com tech support forum to see if they can help (or use the search feature there), or as a last resort try emailing SNK USA to see if they can help you... but definitely make sure you don't mention you are using it on a Phantom cos they will just say that it is unsupported hardware - just say you are using it on an MV-1 1 slot board. This problem really is a bitch and I have heard of glitches on other newer games like Matrimelee and SS5... I really do think that SNKP needs to do more QA work before they release stuff Kaz

Ok cool. I'll try contacting SNK USA when I get back from visiting my relatives. Thanks for the advice Kaz

No probs - just tell them that you have heard from other people that have had probs running the game on certain MVS boards. Most important thing though is that you don't mention the Phantom-1, cos companies get very protective when you mention you are using unofficial hardware, and will basically give you the excuse that your hardware is the problem. I still remember when my CD drive on my first PS1 bust and the Sony guy tried to tell me it was down to using an unofficial scart cable... LOL! ;D

Thought I'd post this in case other phantom 1 users have this problem. I was about ready to send my cart to get fixed but I saw a diagnosis of the problem by Razoola at Neo-Geo.com and he said it dealt with a shortage of power. I usually run my consoles through a power strip along with my computer but this time I just plugged my Neo directly into the socket and ROTD worked just fine. So it just wasn't getting enough power. Kudos to Raz for his analysis.

It is strange that RotD didn't work on my 1 slot but was fine on the 4 slot however, I would have thought the 4 slot would take up more power? Anyway, at least you got it sorted out now dude, congrats! ;D Kaz
