A week or so back I aranged to hop on a CHP plane that a fellow officer and good friend { same academy class
] who works as a spotter.
They generally stay in the greater Bay Area but came down to the Martinez airport { between Gilroy and Morgan Hill } to pick me up. On the way back up we flew over some cool stuff and I had to grab some pics ;D
I got some good stuff like the Cement boat in Sea Cliff ,which actually floated like any other ship and was piloted bye the builder for many years before it came to rest here at the State Beach ,as you can see in the pic the back half has eroded away. You can still go out too about 10 feet of the erosion spot, I used to live about 10 minutes wlaking distance from it and used go there alot.
I also got the Santa Cruz Beach & Boardwalk {Sudden Impact was filmed there},which is the location of the world famous Coconut Grove , been in there before and its pretty damn cool
Its like walking back in time to the 40's ,its only used for special functions and usually has a sunday Champaign brunch for about $50.00 a person.... its worth it. I got afew of Stanford University ,the place is huge but I only got about half of it.
Ofcourse I got the Golden Gate Bridge ,Alcatraz, Downtown SF with the Trans American pyramid ,the Palace of Fine Arts withe the Exploratorium next door { the curved aircraft hanger } next to that old SF Presedio which is where George Lucas is building his mamoth $300 million dollar Digital studio and merging all his companies into 1.
I threw in a pic of Pacbell park or whatever its called these days ? { the SF Giants play there } and Candlestick Park the 49er stadium. Aswel as Pier 39 which is a touristy sort of thing and near where the X-Games were held back in 2000 or so.
All in all I had a blast
Im going to see if I can hitch a ride on one of our local helicopter's but that will be a night flight around Monterey County.
So here is a link to my crappy pic site thingy ;D and a page with all the crap listed above if anyone wants to see any of it. they start on page 5 and goes to 7.
Enjoy
