Decided not to go out tonight... just decided to buy myself a bottle of Jack and am drinking that now. Preferably I won't end up finishing the bottle as I have to be up at 6.30am tomorrow

Rock on. I've actually been trying to stop drinking for a good while. My stomach has been sensitive to point where it's starting to freak me out lately.

Also, i just watched the first 3 episodes of that Genshiken show. I'm not familiar with the "Otaku" culture in japan but somehow i feel that the show is very well done. Genshiken isn't the type of chaotic joke after joke type of comedy anime i'm used to seeing but i think that's because it's kinda smart.

Ouch, that doesn't sound good. I'd definitely say take a break for a bit then. Believe it or not even I actually managed to quit drinking for an entire year once... I still have no idea how I did it though! Either way, it's still a good idea to go teetotal for at least a few weeks once in a while. Also makes your tolerance go down a bit which means you end up spending less to get drunk

That show looked quite good fun, but I still have a ton of crap piled up that I have yet to watch. I really MUST get round to watching it now!

Genshiken makes me laugh because it's so ridiculously similar to my current lifestyle. I'm a college student who watches anime, collects dojin and plays lots of guilty gear with friends ;D

heheh been a while since i last drank too. it just doesn't seem right drinking without my old PI buddies the US age limit thing kinda sucks to me, since i'm used to drinking in a country that barely follows an age limit. one of the good parts of drinking back in my old home is the very tasty sisig, which i have recently confirmed that is not pig insides (it's just the meat on the pig's head being given good use as a nice finger food ;D), balut (i like it as an embryo instead of a fully matured duckling inside the egg since i don't like picking out the small bones), and tortang talong (fried eggplant. poor man's meal, yes, but i love it especially if soaked in KIKKOMAN!). another good part is the terrible Videoke singing we all do just for kicks (one incident with friends, we sang so bad the palce got empty quick. i'm not joking about that).

btw, San Miguel Beer is still the best for me ;D
