what is the ending of the village spoilers welcome

I have read reviews of this movie and not one has been good. what is the secret ending of this movie. My guess is there not even on earth but entire village is on another planet hince stuck in time motif or perhaps other dimension such as hell? Can someone please answer. thanks

The monsters are fake. The elders dress up in costume so the villagers won't leave ther perfect society becuase they are really in modern times. This movies is set around 2004   The elders formed this village in William Hurts private forest reservation becuase they were all victims of horrible crimes. They met at a crisis center and came up with the idea of a perfect village with no money that would corupt people The lovie is really about we fear monsters but the monsters are really within.

Overall I thought the movie was good about 8/10
