Which has more animation: AOF3 or Garou MOTW?
Which would you rather have: an AES or an MVS system?
Which was more impressive for its time: King of Fighters '94, King of fighers '96 or King of Fighters '98?

MOTW
AES because you can hook it up more easily and get mods for it. Almost not worth the price though.
KOF 94 because at the time it was head and shoulders above the other fighting games like Fatal Fury and Art of Fighting in the graphics department and had a character roster even bigger then street fighter.

AOF 3 probably has better animations, they were motion captured.
Although I own an MVS, I'm going to say AES only because the new releases aren't coming out on MVS carts anymore...dammit.
I'd say 98 simply because it's still considered by many to be the greatest fighting games ever made.

Art of fighting 3, if you ask me. Like B said, motion captored, and it sure impressed me. Well, i have an AES and it's all nice and neat, but seeing the price and rareness of a lot of carts. I'd say the MVS is a lot more "user friendly". ;D KOF 94 is what started it all. The 3 on 3 teams, the continuing to fight when your teammate got K.O-ed. Jumping in when your on screen teammate was dizzy......classic. The truelly mixing of characters from different fighting games in one game as a standart (Not talking about secret characters like Ryo in FF special) And the renewing of the sprites, the way SNK started using them in the way they first looked in KOF94. Plus i think it still plays very good, even now it still stands on it's on when playing. Not saying it's the best KOF out of the series, that ain't the subject, but it was the one that started it all and there have been adjustments along the years but the originallity still stays with KOF94.

Nice topic! 1. AOF3 probably has more frames overall, but I still think MotW's animation is better as it seems a bit less "stiff" than AOF3. 2. MVS is better if you ask me, but B has a good point about the new games only coming out in AES format now. So, I guess it just depends on how much cash you wanna blow 3. Depends on whether you mean graphically or gameplay wise? KOF 94 was great for its time as it was something new that hadn't really been done before, but even back then the graphics weren't really the best. 96 on the other hand was a huge step forwards for the series in terms of graphics (and musically) and SNK did change the gameplay a fair bit. KOF 98 was impressive because it bought together almost everyones fave characters from KOF and put them all together in one superbly produced fighting game. It's a tough one to judge, but I would probably say 98 was the most impressive for its time (mainly because it was a KOF fanboys dream), with 96 a close second. Kaz
