Take a look at the main page of the forum - I found a little code that makes it so that a box appears on the right hand side that you can click on, revealing a list of the mods for each section... you can then click on that mod to open their profile. I thought it looked better this way than with having them listed underneath each boards description. The only downside is that they do not work in mozilla firefox, so it just appears as normal if you are using that browser. The page count shortening script doesn't seem to work for me or son_jason in firefox either, instead of showing the page numbers like this: Revenge of the useless info post topic thingy « Pages: 1 2 3 ... 12 » It comes up with: Revenge of the useless info post topic thingy « Pages: 1 2 3 ... undefined » So... I got 2 questions: 1. Do you guys/gals prefer having the little box on the right to list mods? I personally think it looks much smarter 2. Does anyone know why these codes don't work in Firefox? Is FIrefox blocking the code or something funky like that? If anyone thinks they might have a solution then let me know as although 90% of you probably use IE, some people use other browsers. I am personally tempted to start using Firefox, but it will be annoying if my own forum doesn't load up properly in it, so I'm stuck with IE for now Cheers, Kaz

Also realised it doesn't work in Opera... well, the mod box doesn't, but thankfully the page number shortener works ok. Dunno about Netscape though... I can't be bothered to install it, anyone that has it installed wanna test it? Edit: Also just added a better box on the main page that lists who is currently online... before it just used to tell you how many guests/members were online, but now it tells you how many members in each category are online... for example: 4 Guests, 0 Members, 0 Global Moderators, 1 Administrator Nothing major but I thought it was better this way Kaz

About the little boxes next to each section listing the mods of each, since all the moderators are global moderators it doesn't seem neccisary.

That's true, but the main reason I added it is so that it doesn't show a list of all the mods in each section underneath each forums description, as that looked more messy. You can still use the boxes to go straight to a mods profile though, which is handy Also added this to make it easier to pic an avatar from the ones we have already uploaded: If you go to your profile, then click "View Avatar Gallery", it brings up that gallery so you can easily view all the available avatars and pick one... much better! I know a lot of us use our own custom avatars, but it does makes it easier for other members. Kaz

And another addon - this one tells you what percentage of posts on the forum were made by you or another user. For instance here is mine: Name: Kazuya_UK Posts: 3897 Forum Posts: 15.27% Ok, so 15.27% of all the forum posts here are by me. Here's Goemons: Name: Goemon Posts: 1590 Forum Posts: 6.23% Bit more respectable, not as spam happy as me. But... here's Seiryu's: Name: seiryu Posts: 3486 Forum Posts: 13.66% Bwahaha, mine is higher... but it won't take seiryu long to beat it . Anyways, to view this, go to a users profile, and then wait for a second or two for it to load. Bear in mind it's probably not 100% accurate because of posts that may have been deleted in the past, but it's just there for a bit of fun really I've been playing around with these codes and stuff for a bit of a laugh... if anyone has any thoughts on them or doesn't think they are a great idea then I'm open to suggestions/removing them. Also, if you happen to have any ideas on stuff that we could add, then post em here or in the suggestions area as there might be codes floating around to do it. I found a few sites/forums that give help with this stuff now, so I can always look around and find it if we decide it's something that would be good to add. As I said, I'm open to suggestions... and I'll see what I can do ;D Kaz

i use netscape but i can't see the mod box thingy. but you know netscape always displays a multi-page thread like this:
Revenge of the useless info post topic thingy « Pages: 1 2 3 ... undefined »
how do i view the avatar gallery and the %posts? can't seem to find it in the profiles. and it seems that all mod names (including global mods) are displayed under each board that they can mod in.

Thanks Damn... it would appear that most of these proboards codes have problems working in Netscape/Firefox/Opera. Opera I'm not too bothered about as not many people use that, but Netscape and Firefox are important. I'll have to see if there's any way to get them working, but otherwise if you aren't using IE then the new additions won't work. Sucks I know The main one I wanna fix if possible is the "undefined" error... that one could be annoying. Kaz

i kinda got used to the "undefined" thingy, though it's still kinda annoying (i always have to go to the 1st page 1st before i could go to any page ) speakin' of bdays, how about fillin' up the forum calendar with our bdays or special occassions or sumthin' for a change? that's like the only empty section here in the forums

That apparently has the option to add your birthdate to your profile, and then it will automatically show on the calender, and I think it will show up at the bottom of the main forum page when your birthday comes around... wishing you a happy birthday. There may be a hack to do it already, but as that hack probably won't work in any other browser but IE I'll wait until Proboards adds it officially. If anyone wants their bday added to the calendar, private message me with it . I will try to see if I can add an option to let other mods add events to the calendar as well. edit: just checked and global mods already have the power to add events to the calendar. If any of you mods want to add stuff like game release dates or birthdays to it, then please feel free ;D. I'd make it so others could add stuff, but that would potentially cause chaos Kaz

The "undefined" thing happens to me too when I use the Mozilla (not firefox) browser. Just like sukotsuto I got used to it too though. Speaking of these codes not working in certain browsers, does anyone know if Avant browser accepts them? That one is supposed to be very close to IE but does feature multiple tabs just like Mozilla and Netscape.

I think Avant does support the page numbers as it contains quite a bit of code from M$'s internet explorer. But having any IE code can mean you potentialy have a wide open browser ready to be hacked.

Avant + browser + linky = www.avantbrowser.com ;D Don't worry about the possible leak. We'll let Kaz try it out and then try to hack his hide. If it doesn't work we'll know it's safe.
