Street Fighter figures.

We originally saw these figures at Toy Fair, but SOTA would not let us take any pictures or release any information. But, now we have the pictures, and they are here for you!

The first series of Street Fighter will consist of:

Chun-Li

Bison

Sodom

Sagat

Ryu

The figures are 6”-8”, in scale with each other, with “Marvel Legends” articulation in use, with every figure having at least 30 POAs.

The idea is to release 2 main characters (Ryu & Chun-Li), 2 minor characters (Sagat & Bison), and 1 obscure character (Sodom), with at least one of them to be a female. With this formula, the main characters are not used up right away, but on the down side, if they do not get all the assortments out that they plan on, we may go with out major characters such as Blanka, Guile or Vega.

As we are told, there are another 5 assortments planned, but as we all know, that doesn’t mean that retailers will pick up the product. But, it look’s like Ken will be confirmed for Series 2, and Akuma will be in either Series 2 or 3.

Huge fan support will be required for these figures to continue to be made, and SOTA is relying on fans very much for this.

They aren't bad, although I think the range that was released in this country a few years back (can't remember who made em) was better... although I only ever managed to pick up a Cammy figure. That Sagat figure looks damn nice though I have to say.

I'm not too keen on the Chun Li figure though. I don't like the face, specifically the eyes, and to be honest the figure isn't - how did Mai put it - "chuncky" enough to really capture the character.

I hate the extra articulation personally as it means you end up with loads of unsightly looking joints on the elbows and knees which I hate. I prefer it when figures basically have one pose, so that you can just display them on your shelf or whatever... they look smoother that way. But hey, that's just me
